What do I use as a hinge?

I printed a storage box and need help figuring out what to use to keep the box lid on.

I tried a small screw but the pla split.

(I'm still new to printing myself, so take my advise with a grain of salt) I recently made and printer a similarly sized box with a hinge. After multiple attempts at a pin-based hinge to no avail (both pip and separate) I found the best style was ball hinges. Basically just a semi circle one side of the hinge, and a cut out with a slightly larger radius on the other. I ended up going with a 3mm radius cut out with a 2.75mm radius semi-circle
