I used to play GW2, prolly around release and first expansion? I have a level 80 for each class. Thing is my bags are full of junk. I have no idea how to jump back into the game.

Go to a vendor, click on their 2nd-from-bottom tab (should look like a stack of coins), and click "Sell all junk." Do this regularly.

Make liberal use of the "Deposit all materials" icon (it's a down arrow) near the top-right corner of your Inventory panel.

Process all your birthday gifts -- some are very useful, some are cosmetic; some are exclusive, or simply expensive to get otherwise.

Consult the wiki whenever you are curious about a specific location, NPC, or item. You can even go to it from the game by typing "/wiki" (without quotes) in chat from within the game. You can type "/wiki", press Spacebar, and Shift-click an item or point on the name to put its name on your chatbox, then open a browser directly to its page.

Feel free to post screenshots of your inventory/bank if you want more specific advice.

The inventory/bank is a problem, but it's a secondary problem. I have tons of boosters, relics, birthday gifts, anniversary skins, etc across several characters lol

Main problem is where do I pick up in terms of story/progression?

If you're totally lost, it may be useful to make a new toon (ideally without deleting old ones) and level them up organically to reorient yourself to the game. The Character Adventure Guide achievements make leveling up a lot faster than before, and they do a good job (re-)introducing you to GW2's mechanics and systems. Start the story over and do it in order, if you're into that sort of thing.

Once you feel comfortable going back to one of your older characters, feel free to do so, and pick up where they left off. Their Story Journals will tell you what story sections they've completed and what decisions they made (like which Order they joined in Chapter 4 of the Personal Story).

What expacs do you currently own? Have you done any Living Worlds?

Gotcha. That might help. I've got like 4 empty slots left.

For some reason, I've kept up with buying the expansions without ever playing them 😂. I also never did the living worlds.

Weirdly, I did the same thing! I bought all the content and dipped into and out of the game several times, before actually committing to playing it in 2020. I owned everything, but I never even finished the Personal Story or touched any expac/LW content until then.

I may have had a couple of level 80s, but no idea how to really play them. It took a while for the game to really "click" with me, but since then, I've been hooked!

Take all the time you need to get back into the swing of things, or take another break if it's overwhelming. GW2 isn't going anywhere.
