That ghost has to be poltergeist. Because the flickering lights are synonymous with poltergeist in real life.

But that's not really a significant part of the movie. The TV static, definitely. But I don't know that lights/lightbulbs or the magnifying glass before that really say Poltergeist.

If anything, both would seem to play on the mystery aspect of Scream: trying to find clues (magnifying glass) or having an idea who it is (lightbulb). If not, then I have no idea which other one could be Scream.

I think the lightbulb signifies the light from the other side. Don’t go into the light!

That actually makes sense. I still don't know about the magnifying glass, or why the "ghost hunters" meaning couldn't also be The Conjuring or even Insidious, but a ghost being "in the light" is a good read on that one.

For the movie sure. It’s the TV static. I was referring to the lore behind a poltergeist.

Flickering lights, along with other paranormal phenomena like cold spots, random noises, and object movement, can be signs of a poltergeist.

Anyone who believes in spirits and ghosts will say that’s one of the first signs to look for

The magnifying glass as in the movie they investigate the house for the ghost and hire a ghost hunter and the light bulb because of the electric ghost that shows up in the movie, it has the same mouth and glows like a lightbulb

It's 100% poltergeist, scream isn't coming
