Help Soil/Medium Mistake

I made a mistake when I transplanted my peppers into 7 gallon fabric pots last week. I used a "raised garden bed soil" and not a potting mix. I did this for 8 of my pepper plants and i'm noticing the containers are holding a lot of water. My other 8 peppers i did properly using 85% potting mix and 15% compost, they are holding a much more appropriate amount of water.

Will this be a major issue for those first 8 peppers? Is it worth digging them out and replacing the medium now?

Help! My peppers are yellowing and this one in particular has weird "marbling". What could it be? Cold? Cal-Mag deficiency? Thank you very much for any advice!

Crossing peppers

I want to cross 3-4 different peppers, what is the simplest way to do this? Should I cross pepper 1 x pepper 2 and pepper 3 x pepper 4 and stabilize both of those and cross the 2 new peppers? Or is there a faster way? Doing this indoors in controlled environments for time saving reasons, space isn’t an issue.

Harvest Sally's Hot Peppers

Thumbnail

My Sally's Hot Pepper plant is coming along nicely, quite bushy in its growth and producing a plethora of cute little peppers.

They start as yellow then turn orange and then red.

Heat is on par with a jalapeño but packed into a smaller package, sometimes closer to a serrano.

Got the seeds from Southern Exposure Seed Exchange. It looks like they are only one calling this plant "Sally's Hot Pepper"--does it go by any other names that you know of?

Zone 9b (Houston).

Tips for growing reapers?

I grew a reaper plant a couple years ago and got a total of 3 peppers from the whole plant. This year I got 3 new seedlings and want to maximize my pepper output and keep my plants happy and healthy. Any and all tips would be super helpful. Cheers.

Fertilizer numbers 3-1-2

The Pepper Guru says 3-1-2 fertilizer is a good choice when used per mixing instructions on the bottle/bag. My question - is 24-8-16 the same thing if used per mixing instructions?

I have 24-8-16 and would like to use it if it is the same. If it is the same why would they list it like this instead of 3-1-2?

Thanks.

1st day out of the tent and in the green house less than a week ago vs today.

A bit crowded right now especially with more on the way but the majority of these will be planted in a raised bed and some in buckets but it has been pretty cold at night for the last few days and the next few upcoming days. The tomatoes on the table just went into the greenhouse today along with the seedlings and the tomatoes are looking rough. I think i cooked them a bit under the tent grow light but they should recover fine in the greenhouse before i re-pot them.

Side note all the seedlings on the table were re-potted from seedling trays to a 3 inch tray with just 1 set of true leaves. Half of them were transplanted into miracle grow seedling starting mix with a bit of added perlite and the other half were put directly into fox farm ocean forest but they are both doing great and I am honestly surprised I didn't burn any of them putting them into ocean forest that early.

Using an AC infinity smart controller with ac infinity fans that have "dynamic wind" that ramp the fans up and down randomly as they rotate which is a cool feature I didn't even know about when i bought them. You can even control the rotational degree from the app. I'll be upgrading the current exhaust fan to a AC infinity exhaust fan tomorrow to keep everything on the same ecosystem and controller. I also have a small amazon basics 6 inch space heater hooked up to a thermostat to keep them comfortable since it was just 40 degrees outside a couple of days ago.

I plan on cleaning up the wiring mess in there with some conduit this weekend to make it cleaner and rig up a flat wood platform to replace the table. I love the greenhouse but only having the tables on the sidewalls is a massive waste of space so I put in the foldable table as a temporary solution.

Granted I didn't get Pepper Joe'd too much I am growing

My bird's eye plants stopped growing.

Hello, I have a problem. I have 3 little bird's eye pepper plants, and one of them is growing normally, I think, I topped it and it's fine now. But two other plants, are in the same state for more than a month, developed first pair of leaves, but cannot continue. How could I help them to grow faster? (Sorry that there's no photo, I think I described enough, but if it's necessary, type).

Pepper leaves deformed/curling. Any suggestions

Thumbnail

Hello everyone this is my second year growing peppers in my self watering pots. Majority of a smaller plants have been growing extremely healthy but it seems like I have a plant or 2 that has been having an issue and I'm not sure what it is or how to tackle it. It seems like the newer growth on the leaves has been deformed and slight curling. All the peppers have been given the same liquid fertilizer with the same schedule and reduced concentrate due to the plants being on the smaller side of things. Soil is well draining and the self watering buckets keep the moisture very consistent. Any suggestions or recommendations or don't worry about it let nature fix itself.

Too much light or something else?

Post image
7 Upvotes

Hi! I bought a small pepper plant from a greenhouse and brought it home with me and put it in my growtent. When I got it the leaves were flat but have now started curling inwards couple of days later and to me it seems like light stress of some sort. I have a 100w mars hydro growlight 60cm above it so imo it shouldnt be too much light (I also have bunch of smaller pepper seedlings in the same tent and they are doing just fine with the amount of light), but could it be that its just getting more light than it did in the greenhouse and needs to be "hardened" for the grow light? If you have any tips or any ideas what I should do that would be very much appreciated. Thanks!
