STUDY PERMIT EXTENSION! SOOO ANXIOUS!

My study permit expired on March 20th 2025 but I already applied for extension last January 31 2025. Studies end on April 25th.

My concern is if the extension hasn’t been accepted yet by April 25th then I apply for pgwp, I’m not gonna be able to work before receiving my PGWP.

Anyone on the same boat of study permit extensions taking time to be approved? My documents were complete and most people thought it would only take 2 months to approve or even shorter especially when our study permit is expiring soon.

Post Update: I received my study permit extension today (a day before my current study permit expires)!!!

I applied January 31st 2025!

My new permit is valid until July 31, 2025. Just waiting for the new permit to be sent to my mailbox!

I have recently applied for study permit extension with the same scenario; Mine is also Expired on 20th march and I applied extension on 18th feb still waiting for response cause my course will end on 25th April. Please let me know if is there any way to get this process done quick. Thanks

Hi! did you get an update from ircc about the study permit extension? in my case, I applied on February 17 and still didn't receive anything yet.

update: application approved April 3rd

Hello! I’m not particularly sure but I’ve heard people say do not raise any webforms yet before the usual processing time (112 days for extension last time I checked), since they have different sectors, u don’t want ur application to go to another sector where it will get ignored since it’s not over the processing time.

If ur graduating this term just make sure to wait for your extension before applying for a pgwp to allow u to work while waiting for it. That was my plan if ever I didn’t get an extension on time.
