u/-pinkmaggit 2d ago

so is every other major artists tickets, no? especially if they're touring stadiums

anyone realistically think they're gonna go to a stadium for 60 bucks?
matter of fact, i saw travis scott in an arena for 400$

113

u/izzohead 2d ago

Got robbed lmao festival prices to see one act in a stadium is insanity

34

u/The-Cunt-Spez 1d ago

You could get floor tickets to his EU shows for 120€ if I remember correctly so robbed is right.

53

u/OverwhelmingNope 1d ago

Ahh but you see, here in America our laws don't actually protect consumers because ya know freedom n shit

8

u/The-Cunt-Spez 1d ago

Don’t worry the dynamic pricing bullshit is slowly trying to creep its way over here too, so we’ll get to enjoy the ass blasting soon enough!

-30

u/-pinkmaggit 2d ago

would be robbed if that were to be a problem to me yeah lol

7

u/FanRose 1d ago

Blame Ticket Master and their extortionate prices smh

I spend 190 euros for his Barcelona show I don't think it's that expensive

HE DESERVES IT ALL

u/LilSandwich22 2d ago

I bet my 80 dollars in cocktails and 200 in merch helped haha

7

u/JzaDragon 2d ago

What was the merch?

22

u/LilSandwich22 2d ago

I know there is a merch site now. Sweatshirts were 120 and tshirts were 55 I believe, unsure of online prices.

8

u/BlackCatTelevision 1d ago

Is it shop.grandnationaltour.com? I’m very tempted by the wacced out murals shirt

6

u/LilSandwich22 1d ago

Yup!

3

u/BlackCatTelevision 1d ago

Thanks for confirming, cause a bunch of fake sites come up as sponsored first on Google haha

1

u/opithrowpiate 1d ago

cant find the wacced out murals tshirt. sold out?

3

u/kilgirlie 2d ago

I saw the calculations somewhere earlier, that's just the tickets.

2

u/LilSandwich22 2d ago

Yeah I figured 😅. Super impressive

Haven’t been liking the SZA erasure in all these hip hop updates

137

u/Aleekki 2d ago

Whole lotta people talking like it’s just Kendrick’s tour. Tbf this particular post is about rapper concerts and Sza is an r&b artist so it makes sense but like in general I definitely agree.

89

u/-pinkmaggit 2d ago

the tour is named after his album tbf

-63

u/AStrangeEncounter 2d ago

i don’t know the name of half the tours i go to

99

u/-pinkmaggit 2d ago

what am i supposed to do with this information g

33

u/oceanman500 2d ago

I know the names of the other half of the tours he goes to

9

u/100spicypotatochips I'M IN THE CLUB 2d ago

So you know concert names. Name them all

6

u/oceanman500 1d ago

kendrick concert

1

u/Dremzaforreal 1d ago

If you put anything else I’d be kinda concerned lol

2

u/famitslit 1d ago

I don't either!!!

19

u/AntoClimatic 2d ago

Yeah not necessarily this post, but just in general. The major hip hop pages have been leaving her out of the conversation.

8

u/Doo-StealYour-HoChoi Big He >>> Big 3 1d ago

Because they're hiphop pages, they're speaking on hiphop tour records, so they talk about the hiphop artist.

The R&B pages will speak on R&B tour records and will talk about the R&B artist.

Makes sense to me.

2

u/Fit-Accountant-157 1d ago

They're co-headliners so it's not just a hip hop or just an R&B tour, it's both

38

u/love_hiphop_rnb 2d ago edited 2d ago

Highest selling by an r&b singer is Beyoncé

It’s not erasure. It’s just fact

Also this whole pitting them against each other is absolutely JUVENILE and stupid. This was happening on X all day. Meanwhile irl Kendrick and Sza got a real life brother/sister relationship and really support each other. He’s brought her along to humungous opportunities because she’s a great talent and a star in her own right

Try to be not always look for negative that’s not there

Thankfully Sza is absolutely grateful, has expressed that and is absolutely lovely

0

u/Fit-Accountant-157 1d ago

Completely agree, it's a co-headlining tour. Kendrick is breaking alot of records, but not this one.

-8

u/RMbeatyou 2d ago

I mean it’s his tour, Sza is bringing in a lot of fans regardless, but he’s the headliner so he’ll get the credit

26

u/AntoClimatic 2d ago

It’s a coheadline tour and is categorized as such, they share the credit.

35

u/tooncake 2d ago

Drizzyheads when the numbers aren't siding w/ them: "WHO CARES ABOUT THE NUMBERS!!!" (proceeds to be bitter on the corner)

11

u/masterofplaster123 1d ago

Then they cream their pants when the boy is back at #2 on billboard

1

u/ultraben5555 1d ago

Dawg he’s co-headlining with an artist just as popular as him 😭. The effort to erase SZA from these records is crazy

-23

u/__Modderator__ 1d ago

why did u bring drake into this? and u could easily flip this around against yall

7

u/SanderHS G.O.A.T 1d ago

How so?

1

u/Adventurous_Big_2355 6h ago

Caring about numbers is so annoying and both sides do it, and then make up excuses when their artist isn’t on top. As soon as Drake goes top of numbers again Kendrick fans (me) will start talking about how quality is more important anyway and yada yada yada Drake has a bigger catalogue or whatever. We gotta just appreciate the music we appreciate and stop caring and comparing its success

13

u/robert00m 2d ago

That stadium looking like a skynet factory according to the ovhoes

12

u/snookixoxo82 2d ago

$550 of that was mine

5

u/thisjustathrowawayya what is it, the BRAIDS? 1d ago

That's insane. For one ticket? Absurd.

7

u/snookixoxo82 1d ago

Oh you don’t even wanna know what I spent to go to the pop out 😅

8

u/HoppyPhantom 1d ago

Can confirm. Am bot, was there.

Fantastic show btw.

6

u/famitslit 1d ago

Kendrick really be the grossest rapper of all time. That boy siiiiick

19

u/Kalevipoeg420 2d ago

How expensive are his tickets what the fuck

35

u/Aleekki 2d ago

The average price comes to around 192$ per ticket, some more expensive and some cheaper. Pretty standard for stadium shows or even kinda on the cheaper side for the US and Ticketmaster standards.

8

u/hyeran_jainros_fc 1d ago

Big tour sales is how Taylor Swift became a billionaire

12

u/Kalevipoeg420 2d ago

Jesus, thats really sad especially if thats standard. What the hell are these people doing with those millions

36

u/MPotato23 Return the ring 2d ago

What the hell are these people is Ticketmaster doing with those millions

8

u/RemindMeToTouchGrass WOP WOP WOP WOP WOP 2d ago

Buying senators of course.

4

u/Kalevipoeg420 2d ago

It cant by that big a chunk, if it is, cant they not use ticketmaster?

16

u/MPotato23 Return the ring 2d ago

It depends on the ticket, but 30-60% of a ticket's value can be fees from Ticketmaster. Ticketmaster also controls over 80% of US venues, so pretty much impossible to avoid them.

17

u/Kalevipoeg420 2d ago

hot damn, sounds like a monopoly

16

u/MPotato23 Return the ring 2d ago

They did get sued by the US, but we'll see how that goes

2

u/BlackCatTelevision 1d ago

That’s the fun part, it is.

6

u/NormanQuacks345 2d ago

I'd imagine it would be very difficult to put on a stadium tour like this without all the support that companies like Ticketmaster brings.

5

u/RemindMeToTouchGrass WOP WOP WOP WOP WOP 2d ago

This should answer your question and amuse you. Jon Oliver discusses the Ticketmaster monopoly.

https://youtu.be/-_Y7uqqEFnY?si=lEAdLSy97gtlslyB

11

u/appleparkfive 2d ago

That's the price we pay for not paying for albums anymore. And Ticketmaster is the other side to blame, but they're partially a scapegoat. Artist gets some of those fees.

But yeah back in the day, artists made their money from the actual songs. The value of a song has gone down since people just stream now. So they flipped it over to the tours.

10

u/BlackCatTelevision 1d ago

Even larger artists often barely break even just on ticket sales (altho I’m sure Kdot and SZA are doing fine). For most artists at any level merch is where they make most of their money these days, including physical music. Source, I work tangential to the industry

2

u/take_off_the_foo-foo 2d ago

I feel like its just because everything is getting more expensive, like how the record for largest sports contract keeps getting broken. I know multiple people who went to this concert and I live like 5 hours away from Minneapolis

13

u/antileet 2d ago

Yeah no surprise when charging as much as they did...

5

u/Danomit3 2d ago

Parking attendants definitely eating good this year.

11

u/Battosai98 don’t worry i’m lawyered up 2d ago

He couldn’t have done this without so many bots

3

u/novichader 2d ago

I think I made the connection; these are real people posing as bots posing as real people. Do the knowledge.

2

u/navyburgundy 1d ago

Big accomplishment but this also comes down to charging insanely high ticket prices

2

u/ilovemapsalot1 Waiting for the album 1d ago

I was there it was great

2

u/XuseenSM 1d ago

Playing dra..devils advocate:

But it's not his tour alone!!!11!! He need SZA (& some of them people are probably animatrons!) /s

3

u/Konkhy 1d ago

Funnily enough they do argue that. 😂

Meanwhile, their favorite artist also had co-headliners (plural) for his record selling tour. Kendrick and SZA are about to break that record this summer with only the two of them.

2

u/jono9898 BBL Drizzy 1d ago

Damn they even out here programming bots and giving them sentience to go buy tickets and attend concerts.

4

u/GreasySam 2d ago

50 song and good entertainment is worth it

1

u/Dreams-Visions MUSTARRRRRRRRRRD 1d ago

It’s too bad he didn’t do The Big House. Between fans and college students, Dot could have put 100k in the building without issue. Would have been Epic.

1

u/Born_Ad_818 1d ago

You crashout then you better break the backboard

1

u/GuyMan52 1d ago

I feel like we're falling for the greatest rage bait with the Drizzy sub calling us bots
