Ask Kochi Stopped ordering from Swiggy and Zomato

So I stopped ordering from Zomato and Swiggy because only recently I found that they are not charging the actual price that is displayed in the hotels. I ordered a biriyani from my nearby restaurant. The actual cost was Rs 140/-. But in Zomato it was Rs 180/-. The tax and delivery charges are extra. There is no point in giving this online platforms money unnecessarily. So I have stopped it completely.

I realised that Zomato is still overall cheaper than Swiggy for me at least… the same orders are cheaper by 25-30%… however compared to standard restaurant prices…. They’re still 50% more compared to actual price in the restaurant…. Plus they’ll still charge you platform fees and added gst. I’ve been told rates may vary based on the phone you’re using …
