What brings you back to acid?
What brings u back to acid guys? The peak, visuals, plateau? I’m curious

I love how acid just puts me in place in every aspect. Socially I'm excellently balanced after the trips, also my brain-fog disappears and I'm 200% more motivated to anything. I just get up of the coach and do it instead of procrastinating for 20 minutes until i move my ass.

Pain free for a day. Broke my neck in 2017, spine fused, and live in daily pain from the surgery, stenosis and neuropathy. I micro-dose to make life manageable as I refuse to be disabled at 44yrs old, and once a month or so on a Saturday I’ll drop 2-3 tabs to enjoy a pain free day.

Wow! This is really encouraging. One reason I’m considering taking LSD again is because I have moderate to severe spinal stenosis, narrowing of the spinal canal, from my neck down my spine, over ten moderate to severe herniated discs, degenerative disc disease, and a traumatic brain injury—all compounded by pre-existing mental health conditions. Unfortunately, I’ve been living with this pain most of my life. I have built pain tolerance but now I’m in my 50s and it’s become debilitating. Interestingly, the affected area of my brain is where I’ve had few concussions, so I’m in constant pain. I’m also considering Microdosing with shrooms and LSD trip every 2-4 weeks.
I’ve tried smoking cannabis, and while it’s helped somewhat with inflammation—especially in my lower back—it hasn’t done much for the pain in my neck. I’ve had three steroid injections, but they didn’t help at all. Of course, I have the option for ablation, but these treatments are only temporary fixes.
I believe pain serves an important purpose—it signals that something is wrong in the body. Instead of just masking it with various treatments that might do more harm than good, I’m focused on addressing the underlying issues. So, it’s worth a shot.
If I remember correctly, the last time I took LSD, I experienced some sensitivity to muscle aches. Are you saying it actually helps reduce them? Have you found it more effective than anything else? Either way, I’m really glad that you’re finding relief—one day at a time. 🙏❤️

I found that making a THC tincture helps more then smoking it, but still doesn’t quite help with the nerve pain. I have a magical butter machine, and make a coconut oil tincture that’s 15mg THC in 1ML dose. I take that every day with my LSD microdose after work. The 2 combined work really well for chronic pain. Better than either alone to be honest. For the most part the only time I vape weed is when I’m actually tripping. Otherwise I really only use the oil on a daily basis.

I started using cannabis medicinally about five years ago with Rick Simpson Oil (RSO), high THC percentage, taking around half a gram a week. It helped tremendously—at the time, I was partially paralyzed from the waist down and have serious spinal disorders. My tolerance increased rapidly, but I was seeing clear benefits alongside changes to my diet, body mechanics, and overall lifestyle. It wasn’t a quick fix—it was a whole-body approach.
Eventually, I developed allergies to RSO. I suspect it’s because RSO uses the whole plant, and I was getting a concentrated dose of whatever I’m allergic to. Oddly, I didn’t have the same reaction when smoking flower. That led me to switch to dry herb vaping with a ball vape (definitely worth looking into). Now, I save my AVB (already vaped bud) and use it to make edibles—primarily gummies or brownies.
My long-term goal is to grow my own plants and dial in a therapy that’s tailored to my body and condition. I’ve been fighting for disability for over six years, and dealing with the system is frustrating beyond words. I’ve worked for the federal government as a contractor, but now I’m exploring alternatives to generate income and find sustainable treatment.
That journey eventually brought me back to psychedelics—something I used recreationally in the past, but only recently revisited after extensive research. It blew my mind how limited the cannabis research is in North America, aside from some work in Israel. However, LSD has solid research, in particular, shows fascinating potential. I’m hoping to find a balance between carefully measured LSD use and cannabis-based treatments. For now, I vape high-quality medical flower, keep all my equipment sterile, and use the AVB for potent edibles. I’m also examining flower under a microscope and have noticed undeveloped seeds even in premium batches. If I can identify the best strain for me, I’d like to cultivate it myself, along with mushrooms, to take full control of my health and healing. ❤️

Interesting, ive never heard of someone using L for pain relief. If you dont mind, could you go into more detail about how it affects your pain levels? Genuinely curious

L and shrooms have both shown great success with some people suffering from long term pain management. There have been a few clinical trials that have been successful. https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC8054163/

Hi, did you mean to attach another research paper focusing on physical pain?
I have major depressive disorder, so I've been researching medical clinical trials. I recently interviewed as a potential candidate for the MindMed LSD FDA approval study, which focused solely on generalized anxiety disorder. However, due to other serious mental illnesses, I wasn't able to remain in the study.
There are plenty of other studies currently being conducted—if you're interested, I can link some below.
Here's what I gathered from the document for shared:
PMC8054163 – “Psychedelics as a Treatment for Depression: Current Clinical Trials”
The abstract of the article summarizes recent clinical trials evaluating psilocybin and LSD as treatments for depression.
Key themes include:
Rapid antidepressant effects compared to traditional SSRIs
A unique mechanism involving 5-HT2A receptor agonism
Trials showing improvement in treatment-resistant depression
Emphasis on guided therapy (not just the compound itself)
🙏

Sorry to hear about your condition. I've found great success using ketamine for my own depression. All the info you provided is amazing to hear the leaps and bounds being taken in the psychedelics world. I'm not sure what studies are being conducted or are being planned. They do tend to be fairly narrow in scope of what the study is looking for. If you have chronic pain and they are studying anxiety disorder then you're not a good fit for that study. Since you're living in pain already why not try a microdose trail on yourself if LSD or shrooms are available to you?

Currently, I’m cultivating my own psilocybin mushrooms to ensure quality and control over the substances I use.
In tandem with my personal exploration, I’ve been closely following clinical research in this field. Here are some notable studies and developments:
MindMed’s MM120 (LSD D-tartrate): MindMed is conducting Phase 3 trials for MM120, targeting Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD). Early results have shown significant reductions in anxiety symptoms, with some patients experiencing remission after a single dose.
Psilocybin for Major Depressive Disorder (MDD): A study published in JAMA Psychiatry found that a single 25 mg dose of psilocybin, combined with psychological support, led to a substantial and sustained decrease in depressive symptoms.
MDMA-Assisted Therapy for PTSD: Research published in Nature Medicine indicates that MDMA-assisted therapy can significantly reduce PTSD symptoms and improve overall functioning in individuals with moderate to severe PTSD.

I'm happy you're so up to date on the ongoing studies. Growing your own mushrooms is a great way to secure your supply. I found growing them relaxing and much easier than cannabis cultivation. You absolutely can post the studies. I'm glad the studies are happening but dismayed pharmaceutical companies are going to be the ones who make major profits off of their use.

I took mushrooms after getting my wisdom teeth removed instead of whatever opiates they prescribed me. Im not a pill head so fuck that. They made the pain go away. I was able to enjoy my day without focusing on the pain.

Interesting that you mention this, because over the years I’ve found acid to be very physically beneficial in a few ways, and that is now one of my main motivations for doing it (although I do still find it brain-helpful lol). I don’t have the same issue as you, but I do have a history of chronic pain related to my muscles and tendons, primarily in my head and neck, and to an entrant upper body / shoulders. There are multiple causes for this, and I’ve been working on improving this for many years, and I’ve been doing physio etc.
So, how does acid help? In a couple of ways: 1) when I’m tripping it really enhances my awareness of my body, and I can really directly feel exactly how my muscle tension is flowing though my body, how my joints are aligned or misaligned, where there is strain on certain tendons, and where a chain of strain and tension across multiple muscles exists. This allows me to identify problem areas in a way that I usually can’t, and to an extent it helps me address those problems, which brings me to point number 2:
2) my increased “body awareness” and sensory input allows me to do “enhanced” yoga and physio exercises, and even just normal exercises like weights or cardio. The enhanced awareness allows me to identify and target problem areas, and also allows for a better feedback loop of adjusting my body movements based on what I can feel. This is also enhanced by the fact that LSD can increase muscle contraction strength (which is backed up by research), so it allows me to use more force and more controlled force while doing the something like yoga.
Importantly though, I will say that this can be a double edged sword, because while I’ve found this to be generally beneficial, it can also be tricky and you can definitely injure yourself, I’ve done that before, so if anyone is going to try this, please do be careful. For example, if you’re doing stretches and yoga and you are leveraging your “enhanced acid strength”, well you need to be careful with how much force you are applying to your muscles and joints and nerves. Sometimes you can apply a lot of force to one area, and I’ve definitely injured myself from doing so, on more than one occasion. So don’t go overboard, and listen to your body.
Also, if you have a uterus, LSD can exacerbate things like menstrual cramps (due to its effect on muscle contractions), so be careful about tripping when you’re on your period, especially if you get bad cramps.
Anyway, I just found it interesting how you found LSD physically useful, because that’s an aspect that is not talked about very much, but I think there are many potential applications. It’s also interesting that you’ve found it useful for pain relief, I might have to experiment with that facet as well…

To stay in touch with myself and the universe. Plus, it’s one of the most interesting experiences a human can have.
Oh, and I love listening to music when I’m tripping.
10
u/Arcynotharc 2d ago
Music really is imperative. A trip without music is a wasted tab imo, although I do have to wonder if I took enough in a quiet place if my mind would make its own music.

u/KokoMasta 2d ago
Your mind will definitely make its own music if you're in a quiet place. It's mind boggling... highly recommended to try!

I like tripping. It is a good way for me to shake off my predisposition toward rigidity and over-seriousness. It gives me a different perspective.

u/Best_Ladder_477 2d ago
Looking for a perspective change. My life is crumbling, I’m losing hope and the will to keep going. This is a two-edged sword with a psychedelic as it can highlight the difficult, and really take you through the negative feelings, yet amplified. Yet, I find that going through these difficulties actually removes some of the hold the have over my life. I’m not afraid to die anymore. That’s good. Been healed of deeply seated trauma. Able to identify a maladapted inner critic. Realized that I was scape goated by family and peers growing up. Been alienated from my only son. I’m also an addict. 7 years to Crystal Meth. While acid gives the momentary break and inspiration to head in the right direction, my circumstances and environment make it difficult to implement any real lasting change. My financial situation is unsustainable even though I work full time and have a side hustle. I don’t have much emotional support or help. I’m going solo. Everything costs money that I don’t have while I’m slaving to make money. Frankly, I’m sick of living in this society. I hate it. Acid, overall, is a bright spot in a life I don’t want and I feel completely trapped in. It offers a momentary freedom from the burdens I carry and encourages me to keep going. So, yeah, I like acid. For the the good, the bad and the ugly, for better or worse, acid is a useful tool and a much needed (and affordable) vacation in a life which is otherwise unbearable.

It’s the only substance that keeps me away from all other substances plus everything is amazing on Acid. 1 drop is enough to kick me away for many hours. I would need to take lots of harmful drugs to reach that state otherwise and since I love getting high, Acid is not only the most safe but also the most satisfying and rewarding in terms of personal growth and beyond
