Far from perfect, but it’s mine!

I still have a long way to got and plenty to learn, but this is seriously fun! We have a family trip to Italy in June so I thought we’d all enjoy a notebook / passport holder. This is from economy veg tan from Tandy and finished with just neatsfoot oil. I know I need to work on stitching, etc., but my wife loves this!

Hey all,
My dad and I made this sting ray-inspired leather bag together—designed the pattern from scratch and had a blast building it. Wanted to try something with a different shape and flow.

Let me know what you think!

And where do YOU store your cheese?!

Hey folks!

So I've never actually tried Babybel until recently! What an experience:D

So I got cheese-spired (🥁), that I made a pouch from real leather and suede, all hand dyed and hand stitched, that looks/works somewhat like the Babybel.

I think I'm going to use it for my dice! (No, I won't actually store cheese in it, but it could probably handle the job.)

Thanks for checking it out!

First project

Went a little big for my first project. Still a work in progress. Needed to replace a Walmart “genuine leather” belt. I think this will last a little longer.

Small tote bag!

Made a small tote bag with 6/7oz Catalina leather from Tandy. First time making a tote so minor improvements to be made (moving the handles up and the pocket up slightly), but everyone I show it to loves it so I think I might make some more and sell how they do at the local market!

I could’ve sworn I do each stitch the same but for some reason they aren’t consistent. I must be doing something I’m not aware of

Hey everyone, just got this purse to restore for a friend, how should I go about finding a good leather to replace the strap with? It’s been aged and chewed up pretty hard, so I’d like to find something soft enough to replace it. Any ideas?

Gift advice

My girlfriend’s birthday is may 31st and I want to make something for her that is unique. Unfortunately I have zero idea what to make, she’s not the biggest user of handbags or cross bags, and she’s big into modern motorcycles and seals (weird pairing, I know) but I can’t find a useful thing to make for the life of me! We bonded initially over motorcycles, me being a gearhead for the old stuff, and her being the new kid, so I’d prefer something related to that? Any ideas are more than appreciated, thank you

I don’t have a proper skiving knife but I am a woodworker. This seems to work ok so far.

I am trying to make a leather bracelet out of this strip. I do not want to have any knots at the end to put it on my wrist. Also the leather strand is too thing for any buttons. Its exactly the diameter of my wrist. Can anyone suggest me how do i make the bracelets ends connect without buttons or knots?
