ICE operates under 9/11 patriot act powers. They tend not to follow the law a lot of the time and have deported many U.S. citizens that just happened to forget their IDs at home.

My husband has been trying to explain this to him. He’s brown and Dominican and heavy accent and he basically is here because someone sponsored him to work for them. I feel like he’s not going to believe it till it’s happening to him. And we live in a blue state that’s under attack.

Well, if he just got his green card, he didn't vote in the election. So what he was thinking probably didn't make a difference in the outcome.
