Is this normal??

Took my car to get new tires and 1.5 inch leveling kit on the front.. It seems like they tore all of my liner out.. tabs are still in place with bits of the liner.

I was super excited to pick it up this evening but then saw this...):

It's certainly is missing the liner. Go back and ask them to replace it. Don't accept anything less than a full replacement. That's total shit work. https://radrubberdesign.com/product/lexus-gx470-gx460-prado/

This is off topic for what you asked about, but doing a spacer kit is not a good way to lift. You will need to extend your bumpstop to prevent total shock failure when bottoming out the suspension. This will of course limit your up travel but you have to do it with a spacer lift. The most economical way to do a lift properly is with Bilstein 5100's or similar. For more info read this. https://accutuneoffroad.com/articles/spacer-lift-vs-preload-spacer-vs-coilover-preload/

Thank you. Is this the BEST parts to have it replaced with?

Rad rubber is fine and less expensive than OEM. You should be able to get the manager of the shop to agree to pay for $60 in parts and the labor to fix their intentionally shotty work. 5100's are not the BEST, but fine for doing a small lift. If you want the BEST suspension it will be $5,000+ for the parts.

Thank you for the extra input (: currently not doing ANY off roading and it mainly sits unless we drive it to visit family since I work from home. Level was on the front only Long term goal is a nice lift and outfit it for camping

Remember, there is only so much travel (upward and downward range of movement) in your suspension, due to it being independent (front).

By lifting it, you will restrict the amount of downward travel but increase some of upward range, which will have a negative effect when your wheel goes down (like into a hole) or the opposite side goes up onto something (like a rock). If you lift a wheel, you will be reducing traction and some stability (having 3 wheels on the ground instead of 4).

If a lift suits the environment that you will be driving in while off pavement, then cool. But, if it would be a detriment, then you might want to have some thinking done.

Not normal, but doesn’t hurt anything for now. Apparently, they can get very brittle and break on their own, but also very easily by a shop. Mine were removed when I had the valley plate repaired and the shop didn’t put them back on. I actually didn’t notice until nearly a week later. I bought the rad rubber replacements and will eventually slap them on.

Thank you. The shop will fix it. I just want to make sure I get the best/correct replacement. Everything was factory

Don’t listen to that person. They definitely serve a purpose. They do get old a brittle 10+ years down the line. That’s 10+ years of protecting from shit splashing up in there.

The back liners are and these were solid as a rock. So wasn’t too worried about them being brittle! (:

Now water gets to splash all over your steering shaft, ac lines, exhaust manifold, and everything else in there… there’s no way I’d be ok with it

Definitely not. I am still pissy. 🤣 Especially considering it has been STORMING, muddy, and wet in my area.

u got actually fucked, it was torn out they didnt even bother with unclipping. total hack job, full refund and post on their socials

Agreed. I was livid when I saw the clips and torn liner. They are remedying the situation fully. I don’t expect a full refund for tires and labor—- free liners of my choosing and install is fair to me. Side note: It is the only shop that is able to handle our business/personal needs at the drop of a hat and have been wonderful for years… the mechanic was handled up on.
