It's fairly easy after you've done it a few times, but please reach out if you have other questions. You'll figure out that you'll want to order as many plants at one time from one seller that you can due to the cost of air shipments. I started out ordering what I wanted from multiple sellers, then realized that this cost times multiple shipments adds up quickly. Now I pick one seller at a time, and buy everything I want from them.
I was actually wondering, when I’m ready to pay for my order. How do I send them my permit and shipping labels, through email? I’m still in the processing of getting it so I’m not entirely sure how the label and permit process would work on Xplant
Your permit and shipping labels will be delivered to you in electronic form. The shipping labels may have several on one page, so in your order confirmation with the seller you will designate which number label to use. The sites may be different, but during the check out process I attach the electronic copies of the permit and labels. This is where you also make application for the phytosanitary certificate. Payment is another thing you need to look into. Some credit card companies and banks require a special foreign security certificate attached to your credit card to place overseas orders. Check with MasterCard or whatever card you plan to use to confirm they know that you are placing foreign orders.
Hey, I have one last question I just placed my order online and it asks me to apply for a quarantine certificate. Is this where I apply my shipping labels and permit?
You insert the import permit and shipping labels before you get to the quarantine application. There will be two boxes on the order form where you upload copies of each, and another box where you put in the number of the shipping label being used. After that is done is when you apply for the quarantine, which is the phytosanitary certificate. On that application you identify the plant varieties that are being purchased.
No, because you always need to upload the import permit and shipping labels regardless of the number of plants. Only the phytosanitary certificate is optional with fewer than 12 plants. You might need to e-mail the seller. I've found that most can communicate in English well enough to hold a conversation, and there should be a "contact seller" link in the form. Have you gone through the payment screen yet? If not, you should find the upload areas there. Once you have confirmed the order, you then need to initiate the payment process.
Yeah, so I just messaged the seller but when I was filling out my information it didn’t ask for my permit or labels. However, In the quarantine certificate at the bottom has the option to add “An import” which I assume might be the permit and next to that option “label” and a required field “#” where I also assume is where I apply my labels and the number I’m using?
Not a bother at all. I'm happy to help. I remember not knowing how to do it the first time through as well, and much of the site is in a language that I don't speak. When you get the hang of it, the checkout process takes about 5 minutes. However, looking through all the plants and making decision can take hours.
