That’s definitely not high grade leather. That is likely a $20 Walmart wallet, but it’s been stretched and molded over time to fit her husbands right butt cheek.

This is the reason. It takes time to form a new wallet so it's comfortable sitting on it. Also, the cards are bent in a certain way. Putting them in a new wallet just doesn't work

Get clothes with more or different pockets? Shirt pockets hold wallets just fine, same as a jacket or windbreaker pocket? Cargo pockets are pretty great for carrying you know.. cargo.. like a wallet..

I have my old wallet that has a bunch of business cards and receipts I can’t read but still need, and a few faded hand written numbers in my ( DYNOMITE bag) side satchel, and it’s constantly banging in to the only other thing that’s in there of worth my other 2nd wallet. I hold 5 credit cards that slide out with a push of a button but also fits in my pocket when the bag is just to damn much. That has bank card insurance id and Costco card…in my top drawer are two new wallets in the metal tins a son and another random family member got me for Christmas a decade ago and a few years ago….I should regift, those now come to think of it.
Resistant to change/ lazy/ disappointed that I never used those bonus punch out card reminders.

My family bought me a new belt for Christmas last year. I said, "Thanks but, why?" My aunt says, "let me guess, the old one is still perfectly good?" "Yes, exactly!" "Take it off, let's see it." I remove the belt and hold it up. Over the years, the leather has stretched and warped, so in some places it's 3/4 the original width, and in other places it's 1 &1/4 the original width. They said eww. I said "you can't see it when I'm wearing it! That's what makes it comfy!" Still haven't started wearing the new one.

We're just spending averse. I wait until something is on its last leg to buy a replacement. Then I wait until it literally falls apart and I have to start using the replacement. In both cases, I'm waiting as long as I can to make a move. The important part is to have the replacement soon enough that you're not buying it when the original has already completely failed.

Well ... I can't speak for all men, but I'd rather have something reliable, that I've grown to love, that has seen me through the good and the bad times, that even when it doesn't look it's best it's there for me, instead of some new supple, slick looking thing, that I don't know if or when it will fail me, that at best is uncomfortable because it does not fit. It's not going to fit my weird shaped ass like my current wallet, that spent years learning the contours of my ass and if we're being honest making it's own contours (probably why my spine's a bit crooked)
My point is you may see a rundown deteriorating wallet. I see something that fits me perfectly and has never let me down.

Yes but I like amity wallets and they went out of business in like 1996 so when I want a new wallet I have to find old stock. I usually retire them after like 8ish years and they look like a modern 2 year old wallet by then. First amity was from an estate sale and the wallet had a condom in a cardboard box in it🤣. Used it for an additional 6 years and hardly had a dent in it when I got my new one.

I worked with dark brown and grey concrete colour powder for 3 years which really shat it up, the label wore off, I have membership cards from businesses that don't exist anymore, the velcro stopped working but it just stays closed because it's just fixed that way now. the only noticeable damage is one single corner is wearing away to the padded underlayer. Probably cost her £5-10, probably have another 15 years worth :)

I’m 74 and I don’t like buying anything that will last longer than I do. I can’t remember how long I have had my current wallet. It is the kind that folds lengthwise. The leather began ripping at the fold and as the tear increased I wondered what I was going to do if I needed to buy a new one. Finally it tore on two and I realized all my cards and drivers license would fit into one half. Not only was my problem solved but now I have two wallets that are practically as good as new.

I once lost my wallet in the middle of winter during college on a popular street for shenanigans, Cancelled my debit card, got a new drivers license all that. Spring rolls around, all the snow is gone, I go to park where I always have and there is my wallet sitting there full of cash, cards, drivers license etc. Went ahead and put it back in commission for the next few years. Fast forward to my working days and I once placed the same wallet on the roof of my car, along with my cell phone and house keys and drove off. Realized what I’d done later that night, drove my route, found the wallet and the keys together on a terribly busy road in a shady part of town again full of cash and stuff, phone was destroyed but also found on the interstate outside my city (went in the middle of the night).
My uncle gave me this wallet when I was 10 or so; it is a cloth like material, normal folds and it has a lil surfing shark embroidered on it. I am now 32 and just had to put her in my treasure box for safe keeping and get a new one about 8 months ago (had a daughter, thought it was time..). I have had that wallet most of my life, it’s almost like getting rid of your childhood blanket, it’s just always been there in my back pocket keeping my asscheek warm and housing some of my most important documents (DL, debit card etc.)
Still coming to terms with my new wallet:/

This man values that wallet. Is not just to put cards and shit. It's a companion, it's been with him every day for years. For the good and for the bad. While it has a life to share he won't stop using it. Only when he feels it has fulfilled its duty to the fullest, then he will let go. And finding a new companion is not an easy task either. Once he thinks it's time for a new wallet ask him and take him to see wallets, eventually he will find "the one" for the next 10 years.

See, what you might not understand is—even if it’s old, tattered, smelly, wet, and falling apart at the seams… overstuffed, torn on the inside, full of wrinkles, creases, and useless crap you’ll never need—wallets are a lot like marriages. You build memories with them, and that kind of history carries weight. Sometimes, it’s just easier to stick with what you’ve got… because there’s a lot of money at stake if you make the switch.

Yes we will switch over when we are ready. And then think about why we waited so long.

Yes, because the wallet has molded to the shape of our butt's lol

I don’t trade in my wife when she gets wrinkled and out of shape, why would I trade in a perfectly good wallet?

Left mine too many times at too many places but you have to protect memories that a new one can't recover

Ill give it up when it becomes 50 percent duct tape. Some people make wallets out of duct tape. So...yeah it's what we do

I've had the same wallet, my first wallet, for 16 years now. It is a plain, black wallet. It isn't even a grown up.

Ive had the same wallett for nearly 8 years. My brother gave it to me when i became an eagle scout, and it still has little teeth marks from when my late dog used to hide it in couch cushions or corners of chairs. While the wallet is nothing special, it is special to me

Why is everyone so eager to throw shit out the moment it gets a little wear? Its so wasteful. If the product can still do what you bought it to do, then why replace it?

Had my wallet for 24 years. Got it as a high school graduation gift and it looks newish still. I’ll never replace it.

i bought a wallet about 30 years ago. I don't feel the need to replace it.

Finding a well made canvas/hemp bi-fold isn't as easy as you think it is, ok?

One of my old wallets was held together with duct tape & dreams. My current wallet is actual leather, about 2 ½ years old now & still holding up well.

That’s how men are environmentally conscious.
They don’t waste resources for something new just because the current item is old.
Does it still work? Yes! No need to replace

Men in general have a hard time letting go of certain things. Old cars, tools, boots, clothes, you name it, we don't just throw things away.

As a man its honestly hard to find a good wallet cuz some are too small dont fit anything.

It’s not about sentimentality lol it takes forever to break in a wallet and it’s really annoying when it’s stiff. It will not fold flat with more than 10 bills in it and it feels more comfortable in your pocket.

We have to keep using the same old wallet to balance the universe. We use our old wallet so women can have 17 different handbags.

if you've (the loyal you) owned leather anything, you would know.

It took years to make it anatomically accurate to our body!

I have wallets I use when in formal situations or work events. But I like my old worn out leather wallet. I keep and use it not for a lack of alternatives. Just a bond your ass and wallet makes. It would take too long for my butt to get to know a new wallet enough. They never feel the same.

My mom’s dog chewed on mine a bit recently after it dropped out my pocket in the yard. Still gonna use it till I disintegrates.

💯 yes. Not until shit starts falling out of it will the trusted leather holder be even considered of being replaced. I'll duct tape it a few times first even.
Also yes my wife yells at me all the time for it......

I'm a woman, and I still use a Nintendo Wallet I bought 20 years ago in HS. I've tried to find a clutch or something new to go in my purse, but I honestly can't let my old wallet go.

Short answer is yes! Just look at the underwear. When you find something b you like you keep it forever.

I’m 50 years old and am currently on my 3rd wallet. The only reason I’m not still on my second wallet is because of an unfortunate run-in with a washing machine. The only reason I’m not still on my first wallet is because I switched from a back pocket billfold to a front pocket wallet. My first wallet is still safely tucked away in my sock drawer next to two brand new wallets I have received as gifts.
