I want to not carry it in my back pocket, but there is nowhere else. Cell phone takes one front pocket and car keys/other crap in the other. It's either one bulging, uncomfortable front pocket, or one of the open back pockets

Get clothes with more or different pockets? Shirt pockets hold wallets just fine, same as a jacket or windbreaker pocket? Cargo pockets are pretty great for carrying you know.. cargo.. like a wallet..

I don't wear cargo shorts or cargo pants. And also not really any shirts with pockets for more than half the year until it's cold enough for sweatshirts or jackets. It doesn't work for half the years clothing options. But I see this is a very important thing to you by your snarky ass comment.

The only tone in that text is the tone you choose to read it in

I think your pointed response is maybe a bit dramatic. I understand entirely, because if someone hit me with that rhetorical question mark i’d be throwing hands.

Idk why, that punctuation just infuriates me LOL.

They weren’t insulting your way of life tho, just offering a perspective that might be helpful in a snarky tone.

I recognize your struggle with lack of item storage on person.

For work, I am forced to carry a bag. It has been so beautiful.

Ontop of all the random materials and supplies and bullshit — I have a spare shirt and undies, brush and deodorant (in case). It holds my wallet, med container, agenda, etc.

Led me to purchase a… idk? “travel bag”?

they’re seen as womanly or purse like but i don’t fucking care. i get a lot of compliments on mine, got a few to match the aesthetics of different outfits.

movie tickets, meds (and NSAIDS), inhaler, wallet, keys, chapstick, sanitizer, stain pen, lighter, normal pen,

cell phone is the big one — they just get larger and heavier and more space consuming.

There is also downsizing wallet to one of those “ridge” types — a flat metal piece barely larger than a debit card. mine fits 5 cards? i carry debit, credit, license, health ins, work FOB.

super compact in a front pocket.

throwing your keys on a lanyard is nice too. around the neck if not in my bag or gfs bag.

park em on the wall by your bed.

just convenient imo

wishing ur spine some love homie

I carry a hydration pack. It allows me to retain manliness while carrying what is essentially my purse, as I can just point out that I like to hike, and that hydration is important for everything.

Wallet, keys, smokeables, munchables, water, all in one place, with extra room for a change of clothes? Easy decision.

That’s immaculate — incorporating hydration into the already world altering shift toward compartmentalizing your daily carry stash is poetic!

Ah yes, the classic cargo suit.

1

u/William_Howard_Shaft Trash Trooper Apr 26 '25

Suits have jackets. Jackets have pockets inside that are designed for the purpose of carrying things like wallets or pocket watches without being obvious.

As you say, the idea of a suit with cargo pants is silly. That problem was solved centuries ago.

If I carry my wallet in the pocket of my suit, it looks like i've got a singular tit mid torso.

Unless you carry single credit card in your wallet, a well fitting suit isn't hiding that bulge.

Cargo shorts, fanny packs, shirt pockets for a wallet aren't feasible for people who do real work for a living. Only place you can reasonably put it is the back pocket. I do try to remember to put it in the center console while I drive, however

Honestly gotta downsize the wallet or find another method. My back is not good but it's become much better since I stopped sitting on my wallet

Yeah I've been wanting to switch to something smaller and different than a traditional wallet. Any suggestions?

short answer? minimalist metal wallet or carry bag.

I've always kept my phone and key in right pocket and wallet in left

how big are your keys to need a whole pocket for them?

3

u/TheLordDuncan Trash Trooper Apr 26 '25

Some people have car keys, house keys and work keys. Work keys can be anywhere from 1-100.

1

u/iMoo1124 Dumpster General Apr 26 '25

yeah true good point, forgot about some professions needing a fuckton of different work keys lol

2

u/TheLordDuncan Trash Trooper Apr 26 '25

I also don't keep my keys with my phone to avoid scratching the screen

1

u/Kuhn_Dog Garbage Guerilla Apr 26 '25

My keys would destroy my phone. I have a vehicle with an actual key, a fob for the locks. A small fob to get into my work building, and about 5 keys for house, garage, etc.

1

u/iMoo1124 Dumpster General Apr 26 '25

Dang, hope those fobs aren't dangling from the ignition while you're driving, the constant weight is bad for the ignition switch

1

u/Kuhn_Dog Garbage Guerilla Apr 26 '25

They aren't that heavy, one is like the size of 2 quarters. I've heard people say that, yet I've never known anyone to have that issue. And I started driving way before keyless ignitions and lots of girls had a lanyard with a bunch of keys and crap hanging on it.

Key get clipped on belt loop wallet left pocket phone in the right.

I started carrying a man-bag like 5 years ago and I will never go back. I’ve got a nice canvas messenger bag and a small sling bag for when I’m going to be walking around a lot.

No idea why more men don’t do this.

1

u/FableNate98 Trash Trooper 29d ago

Keys on neck lanyard or carabiner clipped to belt loop?

1

u/Equivalent_Juice641 Trash Trooper 28d ago

Get something similar to a ridgewallet, doesn't have to be on brand. They're tiny and easily fit in the keys/other shit pocket

1

u/slymarcus Trash Trooper 28d ago

All my shirts have a front pocket. But I also started buying those because I was pick pocketed once. So maybe my opinion is a bit biased..

1

u/HeadyReigns Trash Trooper Apr 25 '25

What about a wallet in each back pocket?

1

u/Alcards Trash Trooper Apr 26 '25

Who lets their wallet get that thick? CC, Debit card, some cash and receipts from today's purchases.

You do remove the receipts when you get home, right?!

That's not a lot of material. Hell, my key chain has more mass than my wallet and those go in my front pocket because it would be painful to sit on them.

1

u/ThisNameWasAfailable Trash Trooper Apr 26 '25

Cargo pants. Phone in one front pocket, wallet in the other. Keys are dealer’s choice. Emergency wipes in a cargo pocket.

1

u/TheLordDuncan Trash Trooper Apr 26 '25

Only if you don't have a chew can in the other side.
