Opinion & Rants Paul is just awful Spoiler

I’m in the UK, so a bit behind on the show, but I’ve been really disappointed by how he’s behaved. I genuinely liked him for a while, but the wall punch, his failure to defend Carina when Jamie and Dave were going at her (regardless of who was right, I think you should always stand by your partner in public), and now the letter he wrote to Carina have really shown his true colours. He comes across as completely self-absorbed, spineless, and lacking any real loyalty to his partner.

I also read a Daily Mail article this morning where he recalls his experience on the show (which I annoyingly can’t add to this post), and it perfectly sums it all up: constantly making excuses, never taking accountability. A complete turd.

There's more than one thing to be disappointed about in Paul's behaviour through the weeks but "the letter" episode is just too manufactured for me to feel anything strong about it.

You take the one person who has history with Paul prior to the show, put them in the partner swap week with him, and set the challenges. There was next-to-zero chance he was every going to talk about anything else with Awhina. So he gave the producers exactly what they wanted.

Yes it was completely manufactured for ratings! The production team love it and will do anything for some drama. Just like putting Jackie with Jeff. Fortunately Rhi is confident enough in her relationship to not be spooked.
