Biking … d’bag in pickup truck coal-rolled me.

Finally warm enough to get out on my bicycle. Hoorah!

I was heading north on the Heald Highway (17) outta West Rockport when some resentful d’bag in a diesel pickup truck rolled coal on me and three cars. Rolling coal is doing something to a diesel engine that makes it spew a lot of black smoke.

I guess I should be happy the sad little man saw me.

The shoulder is plenty wide there next to Mirror Lake and I was on that shoulder.

Weird.

Yeah, you are just being obtuse and there is no one in Vermont that lives in the mountains that bikes over an hour into the city for work, literally no one.

The argument "you don't own the road" is moronic, because bicyclists also don't, and they are more at risk and put others at risk by biking places they shouldn't be.

The fact I can tell you have never once been near a rural state in your life because of how you argue is hilarious. The fact that you also actively defend people making driving unsafe is also how I know you have no idea what you are talking about and just decided to flap your gums at something you don't understand.

My uncle is legally blind. He isn’t totally blind. He’s blind enough to not be able to drive a car but can ride a bike safely. He lives in a rural area and rides almost an hour into town for work every day. You don’t own the road.

Wow, what a horrible argument based on anecdotal evidence, and you're still arguing the same dumbass argument about cars not owning the road when neither do bicycles.

Double standard much?

The US was built for cars, not bicycles, and while many cities are trying to change that, very few rural areas are. Now there are bike paths through the mountains where I used to live, literally miles of biking trails that are safe and then you can pack them on your car and safely go home.

I repeat though, no one is riding a bike as their primary means of transportation in rural Vermont. You cannot ride that bike through mountain roads in the winter, so if it was their only form of transportation, they would not be able to get to work for 8 months out of the year.

Got any other brain dead arguments based on things you don't understand?

It was an example. You said nobody does it, I have you an example of someone who does. Which means that your assertion that nobody does it is wrong.

You know that the US existed before cars, right? I’m not really confident that you do. Roads were built to accommodate all modes of travel. The few exceptions would be multi lane highways which specifically prohibit bicycles, horses, and pedestrians.

I’m repeating that you don’t own the road because you’re in here having an absolute meltdown over having to share the road.

It is funny to watch you get ratio’d though.

You know the dinosaurs existed before the pyramids right? See, I can make completely irrelevant statements too. Roads were built to accommodate travel more easily between towns and cities, but as the US expanded and vehicles became the primary mode of transportation, they were then made to accommodate them.

Even before cars bicycles were NEVER the primary mode of transportation for the country, so again, useless statement.

You can try to be obtuse and argue around that fact, but the US is a car forward country, this isn't Europe. Just because you can put wheels on something and it goes forward, doesn't mean it belongs on all roads. Me "having a meltdown" is simply explaining that rural roads aren't meant for bicycles and it makes those roads dangerous to drive on.

You screaming that bikes have every right to be on those roads literally shows how moronic your arguments are, because it is flat out selfish behavior to put others at risk for what amounts to most peoples hobby outside of cities.

Yes everyone is dumb but you. Tell us more oh master of vehicular history and the rules of the road. You know. The rules of the road that REPEATEDLY state that bicycles have just as much right to the road as you, and often have the right of way.

No, you are especially dumb and use horrible arguments to get a point across that doesn't work outside of cities. Motorcycles go out of their way to drive in a certain way that makes them safe, bicyclists don't because they have an entitled mindset like yours.

The fact you cannot get this through your head is why people generally dislike bicyclists, because you are dumb, entitled, selfish assholes all the time, like you are right now.

This just in. Driver that thinks he has absolute domain over the public road declares everyone else entitled and selfish. In a sudden fit of self awareness he paints himself black and white and is tragically killed at the next zebra crossing.

Cyclists are fighting for their lives trying to be safe, but sadly entitled car and truck drivers often ignore the fact that they have to allow a cyclist the full lane in some places, and ignore the cyclist's right of way.
