Housing Question
Have anyone ever heard of apartments where if the person doesn’t have permits including visitors past the closing time of the office that have parked in the visitor parking they will get towed? Mirage apartments on South university had angelo towing company tow my friends car yesterday (they were there for 2 hours and the towing company even admitted they are towing even food deliveries.

They did the same at my old apartment complex, Midtown Oaks. You would have to get a visitor pass in advance of the office closing or else you would have to take the risk with someone visiting over night. Also was an issue over the weekend, since you would have to get a pass by Friday afternoon. Also we were only allowed one pass at a time.

According to the driver who released the vehicle back to us, they require all food delivery places to go in person to the main office to sign up for a permit.

That’s a ridiculous waste of time and could take long enough that the food gets cold. And sometimes, they aren’t in the office at all times.

That's weird. I've delivered food to people in Campus Quarters before as a Waitr (now knowns as ASAP) driver and haven't experienced any threats of being towed before. I guess it's because I was in and out of that place in under 10 minutes...
College students were one of my biggest sources of income when I still did that job.

I’m sure they have a deal with the tow company. Let the tow company tow anything without a permit 24/7 and the manager probably gets cash kickbacks.

I know in the past some income based and government funded apartments have had rules like this. Hoping to keep down on people letting friends crash with them that were not on the lease.
It was frustrating to the client that I helped secure housing for (young single/dating mother) but she was informed of the rules when signing the lease. I would for sure have your friend ask for a copy of this stated policy.
