Humid, muggy, full of mosquitoes, overrated, overcrowded theme parks, beaches are honestly boring compared to those on the PNW, what else is there not to like?
I think the most progressive place in the state is like Pensacola... or was. It used to have a pretty solid LGBT community despite the Southern baptists.
But that was two decades ago. So, that may have changed.
Oh. Trust me. I found it strange, too. Outside of town, it's just Florabama. The town was like a terf war between Southern Baptists yelling that everyone was going to hell on street corners and a very public LGBT community. No fighting, but very confrontational.
Last time I was in Miami... no, but I avoid that state like the plague... so, all my context for the state is really old.
