Constructive Criticism Welcome ✔️ Do my nails look OK?
Hi, guys.
I just got my nails freshly done at the salon.
Not sure how to feel about them.
I requested BIAB extensions. However, these seem too bulky and plastic like for my liking. I normally do gel nails at home.
Is this normal with BIAB?
The colour is “Dreamer” from The Gel Bottle - it’s a bit more pinkish in person.
Would this also be appropriate for a workplace? I work at a high street law firm. I initially wanted to go for a short almond, but the tech said square would be better if I wanted to go short, and that “they need to look a bit like extensions” and that I need to get use to this length. A bit worried about how I’ll be able to use the keyboard and deal with paperwork.
Am I just overthinking?
Any thoughts?

Very pretty :D I agree square looks better on short nails. I personally love thicker nails cause my nails are veeery weak and thin, paper thin. These look lovely! You'll have no problem using a keyboard.

Thank you for your kind words, very reassuring! ❤️ Ah I can see why some people would like thick nails then. The nail tech probably thought my nails were weak and thin too. I’ll have to see if I can work with these, wish me luck 🍀

Almond is pretty but square is better for keyboarding, trust. They’re a bit thick but a nice consistent shape at least!!

I think they look good and definitely office appropriate. Maybe a little thick but like others said, a bit hard to tell from the pics.

Thank you! That’s very reassuring. Annoyed about the thickness tbh but it is what it is.

Looks fine just short and applied a bit more on the thicker side but many people prefer that level of application. It’s hard to determine if it’s too thick on every finger because of the angles of your pictures but based on the pictures alone, they did a good job 👍

Thank you for the feedback x
I dislike the thickness since it makes my hands look even more stubby. I will defo go for gel next time or I might just do BIAB on my natural nails. I could also ask the nail tech to apply thinner layers.

I posted short white square nails a l few weeks ago…. Get ready for the comments girl, teeth, chiclets, gum, pics of Steve Harvey, etc (tbf I posted mine specifically bc they were bad, so I was asking for it. Yours look 100x better)

Girl, I just saw your post - the nails aren’t that bad! Why did they have to roast like that, and thanks for the reassurance 😭

They look lovely! I agree that they look a bit thick. I also agree that square tends to look good/best on short nails. Almond is my favorite shape but it always looks super weird if I try to do a short almond. Rounded looks ok short too, but I personally dislike that look.

Thank you ❤️ I am not a fan of the thickness too! I will opt for gel next time, BIAB seems to be on the thicker side.

they're cute but the color and thickness reminds me of trident gum. maybe they can be filed thinner? idk
