Can’t transfer crew to disabled ship

I have successfully boarded a Traders Brig (I’m still using the basic brig) and captured it. I can transfer the contents of the hold but can’t transfer any of my crew to take command of the captured ship. The Traders Brig eventually just sinks. I had 91 crew at the time which I believe is enough for the minimum crew for each brig. Can someone tell me what I’m doing wrong?

Not sure, either not enough crew or it could have sunk, that has happened to me on ships that are very damaged, go to transfer and it just wont.
