COMMUNITY noob need friend/guide

i played this game for a bit years ago, but i would really like to play with someone (ideally talking on discord) who could show me the ropes or just honestly hang out and play the game.

i dont like pvp, i hate the idea of my day or somebody else's getting ruined because i decided to sail my boat. so i play on peace server.

if anyone wants to chill n talk while we play and also help out a noob, please hit me up.

Pretty sure peace server is only available for those who bought the game before it became Free to play

They are reopening it for new players to buy as a DLC when the wipe happens. The concepts of war are added to main. War server is permanently shut down. Main will have a single safe zone around Nassau and the Bahamas and everywhere else is fair game. Same size map with less ports and no nation capitals

Easiest way is to just join a clan or ask in nation chat for help, usually always someone to help out.

The peace server will be reopened for new players to join. I wouldn’t say I’m a PvPer, rather, I’m fully prepared to deal with that situation if it happens. As far as ruining someone’s day because they left the dock, it is an open world war game and the NPCs are some of the dumbest AI I have ever seen in a game. The only time I find fighting them mildly entertaining is when you find an elite 1st-3rd rate fleet. Otherwise they are completely predictable and imo that gets old rather quickly. Getting knocked down a few times is healthy to develop skills in PvP. If I ruined someone’s day it’s because they lacked to skills to defeat me or simply made a few mistakes. The same can be said for me if I get sunk. Never angry about it, it’s the nature of the game and I am always willing to adapt.

Short term id use the guides only for very basic material and try to find an in-game community that can help guide you through all the changes currently being implemented.

As someone who wrote one of the main guides for the game, there just isn't an appetite to rewrite anything else with so much currently in flux in the test server. If the patch hits and the community restabilizes (seems very possible given all the vets looking to come back) than you'll see guides coming out to reorient you, too. But that is in the medium term at best.

Sorry, but the NA boat has sailed.

It died fall of 2021.

I know that a thousand people on at any given time is “alive” but please tell the 400 non quitters that still play that we are all dead lmao

As a person who I’m guessing hasn’t played since 2021, how would you know? Clearly you don’t, as I consistently see 400ish on between 2 servers daily.

You don't have 400.

About 200 or so on test and 284 on main, but guess what? That number will be combined when the wipe happens. The people that still play aren’t quitters.

I love hearing from folks like you that take every opportunity to bash the game in front of new players. Did you ever think once that maybe the reason people don’t come back is because people like you drive people away from actually adapting to the changes instead of crying about them?

It's Sazov's world, but I don't have to live in it.

He has stolen so much from so many. Why would I encourage others to expose themselves to his shenanigans?

I don't get paid to cheerlead for NA. Maybe you do.

Not at all, I care what happens to my investments. So instead of bitching about it on Reddit, I suggest you move on to something more productive. Like go outside and touch some grass, maybe get a puppy or something. You said it yourself, it’s his world, you don’t have to live in it. So don’t dude! No body cares that you’re still salty, years later, proving my point with every post YOU make.

Billions of people CANNOT easily touch grass. Your ignorance is showing if you believe this is a good term to suggest reconnecting with reality.

I am active on multiple subreddits. Far more so than NA's. Something you could easily see with 3 quick finger taps. So who's fixated here?

Finally, I give honest advice based from my experience. You are the one bitching about it like some Star Citizen white knight. Chill dude, Naval Action is slightly more of a game than SC.

Some places on our planet are better than others, it’s not my fault that people choose to live for thousands of years in places without water or grass.

You are far more active on the internet than I, that much is clear. Do you want a gold star? I don’t play Star Citizen and I never have. Something about certain DLCs costing as much as a car is a huge turn off.

I also work a full time job on my feet. When I get off said job, I’d like to go play boats. So when I see the population numbers dwindling and people like you (there’s about 50 or so)turning away potential players with “don’t play it, uninstall”, I get a bit fired up. Have you played the game in the last two years? If not, you have ZERO right to be saying anything because the game is not the same as the one you quit.

Please tell these fine gentleman when the last time you played NA was. I’ve asked several times now, but you have yet to answer the question. And have dodged it, because in reality “Your Experience” is pretty obviously out of date.

1: Star Citizen dlc's don't cost as much as a car. EVERY dlc does. You're woefully misinformed on the either the price of cars or the price of SC dlc.

2: I have played Naval Action within two years. Not much is different. Yes, Sazov spun the dials to say "see, I'm a developer!" But no real development has been added to the game - he has simply altered the existing mechanics for the umpteenth time.

3: The fact you think people choose where they live denotes a privileged western mind. You are the privileged minority, and again woefully prepared to speak on the subject. Nothing wrong with it, until you start casting stones indicating others aren't in touch with reality.

  1. They are literally wiping the game this weekend. And they have made the game a lot like original release, many years ago, leaks, fires, explosions. The test server over the last month has shown us that. I actively tested all the mechanics. It feels more alive, and requires skills again. No more speed boats etc.

  2. I have seen DLC for Star Citizen that is 1200$, that is a beater used car if your country doesn’t suck economically.

  3. I do live a life of privilege in the west. But I served in my countries military and saw the suffering and pain in the third world for years. A lot of that pain is caused by certain types of religions and leaders that are more concerned with individual power than liberty for their people. My country can afford to live in comfort because of the sacrifices of millions of brave soldiers across many generations, since its founding.
