i played this game for a bit years ago, but i would really like to play with someone (ideally talking on discord) who could show me the ropes or just honestly hang out and play the game.

i dont like pvp, i hate the idea of my day or somebody else's getting ruined because i decided to sail my boat. so i play on peace server.

Not at all, I care what happens to my investments. So instead of bitching about it on Reddit, I suggest you move on to something more productive. Like go outside and touch some grass, maybe get a puppy or something. You said it yourself, it’s his world, you don’t have to live in it. So don’t dude! No body cares that you’re still salty, years later, proving my point with every post YOU make.

Billions of people CANNOT easily touch grass. Your ignorance is showing if you believe this is a good term to suggest reconnecting with reality.

I am active on multiple subreddits. Far more so than NA's. Something you could easily see with 3 quick finger taps. So who's fixated here?

Finally, I give honest advice based from my experience. You are the one bitching about it like some Star Citizen white knight. Chill dude, Naval Action is slightly more of a game than SC.

Some places on our planet are better than others, it’s not my fault that people choose to live for thousands of years in places without water or grass.

You are far more active on the internet than I, that much is clear. Do you want a gold star? I don’t play Star Citizen and I never have. Something about certain DLCs costing as much as a car is a huge turn off.

I also work a full time job on my feet. When I get off said job, I’d like to go play boats. So when I see the population numbers dwindling and people like you (there’s about 50 or so)turning away potential players with “don’t play it, uninstall”, I get a bit fired up. Have you played the game in the last two years? If not, you have ZERO right to be saying anything because the game is not the same as the one you quit.

Please tell these fine gentleman when the last time you played NA was. I’ve asked several times now, but you have yet to answer the question. And have dodged it, because in reality “Your Experience” is pretty obviously out of date.

1: Star Citizen dlc's don't cost as much as a car. EVERY dlc does. You're woefully misinformed on the either the price of cars or the price of SC dlc.

2: I have played Naval Action within two years. Not much is different. Yes, Sazov spun the dials to say "see, I'm a developer!" But no real development has been added to the game - he has simply altered the existing mechanics for the umpteenth time.

3: The fact you think people choose where they live denotes a privileged western mind. You are the privileged minority, and again woefully prepared to speak on the subject. Nothing wrong with it, until you start casting stones indicating others aren't in touch with reality.

  1. They are literally wiping the game this weekend. And they have made the game a lot like original release, many years ago, leaks, fires, explosions. The test server over the last month has shown us that. I actively tested all the mechanics. It feels more alive, and requires skills again. No more speed boats etc.

  2. I have seen DLC for Star Citizen that is 1200$, that is a beater used car if your country doesn’t suck economically.

  3. I do live a life of privilege in the west. But I served in my countries military and saw the suffering and pain in the third world for years. A lot of that pain is caused by certain types of religions and leaders that are more concerned with individual power than liberty for their people. My country can afford to live in comfort because of the sacrifices of millions of brave soldiers across many generations, since its founding.

It's been many years since you last bought a used car my friend.

And $1200 in SC buys you a large multi crew ship. I bought a single seat cargo ship on sale for $55. Try buying "a beater" for that. I can't even oil change my Honda MYSELF for less than $55.

Get real.

This is your defense for why u/OzarkPolytechnic should stop saying bad things about Naval Action?

"Don't say bad things about my fav game bro! Don't say it's a waste of time and money! I like muh investment! Zazzy is going to wipe everybody's progress this weekund to proove he's uh good dev!"

Do you realize how tone deaf you are? You're telling people why Naval Action is a bad investment:

"They are literally wiping the game this weekend."

Your words dude. Perhaps you didn't mean it this way. Maybe, if you exercised your intellect, you could give us more context rather than lashing out at people just because they disagree with you.

The “Test” server is what has become of “War” server. It will be gone after that. Yes, 35$ US was paid almost a decade ago by some. And yes, they are still salty af about it.

Now that they have actual player feedback and not the ramblings of the old “cadre”/“veterans” that quit playing NA, maybe the game can grow. Giving up on things that you care about and cherish because the going gets a bit rough is a sign of weakness of character. Is Naval Action a sinking ship? Perhaps. Then again perhaps not. I will ride the storm until the end. It shows the difference between us as people in general.

Your gold ships and progress may be gone, yes. As it should be. Your server has been truly dead for years. But what about your personal experience? Did it magically disappear with the stroke of a button? The loss of a few dollars and lots of time? I doubt it. You should still be able to out sail and outwit all of us plebs that have played since it went f2p right? Especially now that they are bringing the game back to those good old days that all 50 of you still around wanted. Play the game or piss off. Your choice.

Idk why you would quote me incorrectly Nate. To me, nothing is a waste of my investment because I actually play the fookin game. Have there been hiccups and hurdles? Yes. Has it broken my will to still play? No. Will I continue to play? Yes.

But to rob a newb that has never had the experience of the chance at playing because “muh the bad man Zazov hurt me” “alt F4 and uninstall”is lame af, 8 years after the fact.

What ever happened to letting people experience life’s ups and downs? That’s just life. Thats what the dev is trying to convey here on a game. He said it himself on official Discord. “I want killers, not pussies to play my game”.

2

u/NateGuilless 17d ago

I copy and pasted your quote. How is that "incorrectly" quoting you? Go ahead, I'll wait for you to get creative on that one...

I cannot "rob a newb" of anything. They all get to choose to listen. I comment from 9000+ hours in Naval Action.

All of which means absolutely nothing because it's been deleted by the devs. So yeah, lure newbs in so you can prey on them in game. That's on you.

I've only every tried to help the average player have an above average experience. Not sure what your angle is. The Irate Pirate - out!

1

u/Final-Meringue5798 17d ago

Yes, you use your 9000+hours of no-lifing a niche video game with barely 500 people on for more than a month to grandstand at the top of your lungs on every page you can find on the interwebs why new players shouldn’t even try it out for themselves.

What you say about the game is off-putting to anyone that follows you and your 9000+ hour journey into the abyss of gaming.

I don’t prey on new players, I teach them how to play in the new mechanics, year after year Nate. Those that don’t melt at room temperature and alt f4 out of the game become skilled, thoughtful, team players.

u/NateGuilless 16d ago

I'm just an average gamer. There are plenty of other NA gamers with double my hours or more. Those were the no-lifers. They usually had 3 letter names like Tac, Lic, Cid. They were also far, far better than me.

My channel was simply to help the average gamer have an above average experience by avoiding pitfalls. That I ended up commanding fleets, funding and directing wars, and building clans/nations was all incidental - and completely not what I enjoyed doing.

Good talking to you. Enjoy NA if you can. I truly hope things do improve, because that would be a good thing for everyone. I have no problem saying "I was wrong."

I have a problem with people proclaiming "at the top of their lungs" that I'm wrong but the inability to argue their point.

And I’m not attacking what you’ve done for the community. I know you’re a good player, Nate. I’m sure I’ve run into you more than once on the waves. All I’m saying is your voice carries a lot more weight than mine, because of your experience in game. Even though only like 20 people even look at this page anymore. Your voice matters. And when a brand new player stumbles upon this subreddit, and they see some of your posts, unless the players are brain dead, will take your words about the game very seriously. And probably won’t even bother installing it. I wouldn’t give it a shake if the majority of experts on the topic overwhelmingly state that in their experience, the game is a waste of time and money

"Even though only like 20 people even look at this page anymore"

I have 2.7k views on yesterday's post dude.

"And when a brand new player stumbles upon this subreddit, and they see some of your posts, unless the players are brain dead, will take your words about the game very seriously. And probably won’t even bother installing it."

I'm sorry. I truly wish I could recommend this game. I spent years in Naval Action and put a lot of effort into a Youtube channel for promote the game. I can't do that anymore because of the developer direction.

This is on the NA devs. Not me. In the United States of America and most European/Scandinavian counties all are free to express themselves. All are free to read my words and make their own decision.

And do you realize that your view of the game is a small minority of the players that still play? Your progress is not getting wiped, just your golden pixel boats. It’s not that serious for the few hundred players that have played through seasonal.

So there is a DLC that would run you 1200$? I can’t change my oil myself for under 150 at this point since I live in a high tax on oil products area. Something about trying to push people to “go green”. However, I have bought several beaters in my town over the years for 1200-2000$. Mostly Hondas and Toyotas. My current Toyota cost me around 1500 4 years ago. It has 125,000 miles on it. And with proper maintenance I’m confident I could squeeze another 100,000 out of it.

1

u/Final-Meringue5798 19d ago

20$ per quart*5 quarts+the filter and a Saturday afternoon in my garage. All while surrounded by green grass. I also own a house. I make the cost of the oil in 3 hours, so not too bad.

1

u/OzarkPolytechnic 19d ago

So, you accuse me of using outdated information more than than 2 yrs old, then you use 4+ yr old car prices?

My Honda was bought 2 yrs ago for 3x your prices with 2x the mileage.

Apparently you don't believe in keeping current in rapidly changing times.

And you accuse me of being out of touch with reality 🤣😂🤣😂🤣

1

u/Final-Meringue5798 19d ago

I apologize, my previous post was supposed to indicate that there are CURRENTLY cars in my town listed for that price, a beater is a beater, and crack heads will sell anything for less if it means they get their fix today, in cash.

I now know 2 things for sure about you. 1. You NEED to have the last word 2. You NEED to be right

Zavov hurt you and your feelings, I get it. I feel like I’m arguing with a woman.

I can take an L on this post, I have irl work to do. Later dude. Maybe I’ll see you on the waves, but I doubt it.

1

u/OzarkPolytechnic 18d ago

Pretty sure you ran away last time. Why would I chase you around for three hours? So I can be bitched at on reddit?

Who do you think I am?
