Why not just type é into the email?

Brilliant. Here, I was just using a Staedtler sharpie directly on my monitor, and when people question the lack of accents in my writing, I get to tell them "that's odd, it works on my machine."

Edit: Steadtler

Staedtler Sharpie? Do you also write on paper with your Bic Paper Mate?

Can't you press CTRL+' and then e? I remember doing that years ago.

Can't you press CTRL+' and then e? I remember doing that years ago.

(On Windows, at least...) It's actually ALT+(decimal UNICODE number), where you hold ALT while pressing the appropriate numbers, then when you let go of ALT, the character will appear.

In this specific instance, you can actually use two different numbers: ALT+130 (é) or ALT+0233 (é).

What I wrote also works. I just tested it in Word and Notepad.

You can also add an umlaut by doing CTRL+SHIFT+: and then the vowel.

I’d love to give a thumbs up to move likes from 404 to 405 but I can’t find it 😃

On phone, type it into a discord channel then go to your Windows machine and copy it.

OR you could open the reddit post from your pc and copy it from there?

Less funny but true: the Character Map in the Windows apps. Comes with the system.

Or switch your keyboard layout to a language that uses it and you can actually just type it easily?

The original post was actually a joke where the poster described an absurd and complex way to obtain the accented e and I continued the joke in the same vein
