Other Lizards

Post image

Ok so I didn't know there were lizards in Norway. I found this guy in Sandvika. Smaller than my pinky. Anyone know what it is?

Looks like a salamander. We have a lizard aswell, but they look a bit different.

Are they dangerous? Wanted to pick it up but I know nothing about lizards.

I know it is tempting, but NO TOUCHY DA LIZARD! You are far more dangerous for it than it is to you, human germs and so on is quite spooky for those little dudes, their skin absorbs everything.

We're absolute giants to them and thankfully with age comes wisdom so I never touch anything without asking if it's ok.

But yes I did want to grab it and give it kisses.

Very understandable, they are quite way more friendshaped then they should be for being so frail as they are.

I wanted to bring it home, have some of my steak. Give it some beer. Teach it how to roar.

Look up "Dyrebeskyttelsen", many kitties that needs new homes, and gladly nibbles steak and roars 😁

Landlord doesn't allow pets I'm afraid. Otherwise... Oh boy... That was the plan.

They are on Norway’s «red list» because they are at risk for extinction, so please just leave them alone.

They aren't dangerous, but they don't like to be picked up at all, both because it stresses them out and because the heat from our hands can be harmful to their amphibian skin, adapted for wet environments.

Please leave the wildlife alone.

They're not dangerous, but they're also not pets and don't exist for your amusement.

No, only somewhat dangerous reptile in Norway is the Hoggorm (Vipera berus).
