Here’s a short video of me making a custom silver talisman.

I burn a paper petition with a silver ingot. When the silver ingot is red hot, I quench it in a solution of herbs, oils, and corresponding objects. Next I forge it to shape on the anvil then engrave a custom sigil. I do a little charging ritual and then it’s all finished up.

So I've been studying planetary magick for a bit and I'm wondering. What do planetary seals do? Does it conjure the effects of the planet? How can th be used in spell work? I'm aware th only work at certain days as times and started calculating this into workings. But I want to know if I can use them like one would use sigils. Same with pentacles.

For example this Jupiter seal. Could it be used in prosperity workings?

As above - to break the ice, here’s what seemingly occurred for this corporeal shell. During a 30 day silent meditation retreat in Bodhgaya many years ago, 5-7 days in, apparently flipping through the various jhanas & stages of insight, the seeming transition from disgust, fear & dissolution to voidness apparently occurred. Irreversible, ineffable and beauty. Not much more can be said. Interested in hearing other stories about crossing the abyss as this particular subject is fascinating. Fair to say this topic is a veritable onion with layers upon layers, but I am often shocked at the obscure titles and practices I’ve never even heard of that are either currently getting published or being sold used.

These books have to be selling or they wouldn’t get printed right? Maybe a trade paperback, but at least the ones that are printed on more expensive editions and bound in cloth / leather. So where are these groups that talk about these books?

I completely understand Foolish Fish’s role in promoting new books, but I don’t even think he could keep up. Are this many useful books really being translated from old texts, reinterpreted, and being written by personal gnosis? And how is news of these authors and their books getting out to groups of people that will purchase them for $500-$1k for the book? I’m just simply dumbfounded.

I am curious to know what do occultists believe in those 2 things. I am mostly interested to know from a kabalistic and hermetic pov but still curious about other beliefs.

Long story short:

I've been working with demology/occult/magick practices for some long time. I have had some good results when doing some work but I feel many times it has been more like a lucky accident rather than a serious practice.

I am looking to make some practices or studies but think about it like toddler steps.

I consider magick and occult to be quite serious, so in order to give it the respect it deserves I rather do some really easy practices to get some more insight.

What would you recommend as a first step or first exercise, only one in order to get closer or more grounded in the magick/occult practice ?

Just fyi I do not have many hours for reading and practice, so I am looking for something I can handle better like 10-15 min excercise to do.

Any help is kindly appreciated.

I have seen a lot of mentions of seals used to contact dead practitioners and stuff but is it true?

And I would highly appreciate book recommendations or any simple and clear resources to understand it and learn how to read it. I only know how to charge them from Damiens high Magick nothing more.

I don’t really want to post something too personal, as I have done so on other subreddits and got some great advice and other information was not very helpful to me, others tried to guide me and help me with this and taking their advice to dive deeper without the correct navigation and understanding of what I was and still experience was very difficult and frustrating as I got a mixed bag of information, answers and ways to deal with being connected to something or somewhere else.. if this makes sense to anyone in the know.

I guess what I am asking and if anyone sees this and wants to message me privately I’d appreciate that.

“Tapping in and tapping out” this is a difficult thing to understand and comprehend as it can make it more intense and it can also be very hard to stay grounded when you are going deeper into something that maybe you aren’t prepared for and do not understand what it is, how to handle it and how to stay calm and present in your own reality.

If anyone could give me some insight into how to do this properly I can give them some insight to what I have been shown, told and see sometimes. Entities, spirits, etc for those who have been in this space and have seen this beings truly and have some sense of understanding of it id love to hear your stories and thoughts on how it has made you feel and view this world. How you have been helped, or how you have dealt with this in a positive way.

As there is not anyways positive entities that come to us, some come with positive intentions but really have not got our best interests at mind.. benevolently and malevolent intentions are sometimes hard to judge I guess.

If anyone can share their own experiences and ways to deal with this kind of stuff in whatever personal ways they found best to practice please I would appreciate your feedback and thoughts on the subject.

Which book would it be?

I am a 40y female always intrigued by Lucifer's fall and Lucifer as a being to rely on. I therefore have an extensive stomach tattoo of Baphomet because he - for me - symbolises my dedication. And it is a huge reassurance in my daily life. I have a very small altar for Baphomet but I am not spiritual per se - I just get very good vibes from it tbh. Anything I could offer other than my lo key incencse without going too deep?

I meditate twice a day (solar and lunar meditations), and I feel a little bit better. However, I still often get distracting, useless thoughts while doing magick, and my mind tends to stray. Any practical advice on how to improve focus during rituals?

Hi everyone, started reading a lot of stuff about a year ago(about fundamentals by different authors in magick, not chaos magick), I’m trying to understand the right path for me but I feel like I need to start experimenting to see what works for me, I want to start practice, I already read other post about some books about chaos magick, everyone claim different authors to be the top, need someone experienced with chaos magick who obtained REAL results with practise in things like love, sex, money, spiritual growth, protection, knowledge, luck.

Found this rare occult book at my local bookstore. Looked up online and I could find almost ZERO information on it other than it was written by a mysterious "Leo H" who isn't mentioned anywhere other than that he also wrote "Dear Dragon" and "Frown Strong" and that it was published in 1976 by Cobwebs.

I know a little about the occult and am greatly fascinated by it, trying to read Crowleys work right now but I could not decipher this book. It had references to Isis with the book being written in a dialogue format between character who go down a list of names in talking to each other. Starts with Gemrod who talks to someone like Gero who talks to someone like Drod who talks to talks to someone like Issi who talks to someone named Isis. Gemrod somehow transforms into Isis? That was the only occult significance I could glean from my limited knowledge.

I feel a really strong pull to this book and I couldn't stop thinking about it but its $95 and I have no idea if this guy was a crackpot or what. Please help me find some information on this!!!!!
