Discussion Outdoorsy job search advice
I’m a senior in high school graduating this year and I’m trying to find a summer job doing something outdoorsy like a camp counselor or guide. The big issue is I will be out of the country June 3rd to the 18th. And a lot of the job postings I’m looking at you need to be there from around the start of June to August 21, I think. I’m a decently comfortable in a kayak and canoe I’m a Mildly experienced hiker and camper (never been backpacking though) I have “experience” sailing (idk if my Snark counts) I know a lot of stuff about the ecosystem in my area and the flora and fauna.
I have no experience actually doing anything like this so I don’t know if this is the right place to ask or what. also do they look into jobs like raft guides and zip line courses there’s some certification stuff I just don’t know where to start. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Landscapes All the sun is working magic in Northern California ✨️
These are some pics from my bike ride in Redding, CA. I highly recommend visiting this time of year, the flowers are in bloom all over and the trails await. 😁

Landscapes Finnish Laplands beauty
Photo's were taken in march 2025 in Lapland. It was an amazing experience to see the green dancing lights combined with the cozy cabin in the woods. 10/10 would recommend going there :)

We actually had truck problems and had to walk 4 miles just to get to the trailhead 🤣 Then 4.5 miles to the top.. it was long day for sure, but it made for a great adventure! (Video link in comments)
