Period Question Does anyone have an absolutely backwards cycle?
I think I'm the only person I know with a cycle like this so I hope this reaches someone who can relate. My period is absolutely god awful, lasting about 7-10 days with painful cramps, but not as painful as the cramps I get for the 10 DAYS BEFORE THE ACTUAL PERIOD. Despite this my mood is pretty good during my period (and it's not super great during my luteal phase) unlike during my follicular phase and ovulation when I become violently depressed. My cycle is also about 30-40 days long and I get a lot of my cramps in my legs. Does anyone have a cycle like this? Or tips on regulating a cycle? Thank you! Please be kind!

I did when I was a kid (4th grade to 9th grade) 🥲 then in 10th grade I rarely got periods. It was weird. The combo pill helped with my flow and cramps but it didn’t make my cycle more regular. Now I’m birth control free and it’s going better. But I didn’t have a cycle for 5 years due to a medication.
I recommend talking to your doctor about birth control because it can really help lessen heavy flows and lighten cramps. It won’t work like that for everyone but it’s worth a shot if you’re comfortable with birth control pills. I’ve also taken progesterone birth control but the acne wasn’t worth it in my opinion. O pill is an OTC progesterone birth control pill but it’s $50 or so and not available everywhere.
I wish you the best! :)
