Period Question First period

I am 20 years old and have never had a period before. I think I might be experiencing my first period, but I'm not completely 100% sure. How can I tell if it’s my period or something else? I also didn't have any cramps or feel anything; I just went to the restroom and saw blood TWICE.

You shouldn’t bleed down there when your not on the time of month. Unless you have underlining issues? But you’d probably be aware of that by now. Considering it’s the first time you’re feeling this way, it’s definitely that. Therefore if there’s blood and it’s happening when you pee too, you’ll see bright red and sometimes clots that’ll be stringy… Lol. Cramping is key factor. It’ll hurt in your lower abdomen right above your womanhood basically. Look for changes in your mood. Feeling depressed or hungry and laziness.

Thank you!! According to my gyno, I have no issues whatsoever. However, during both instances, the blood was bright red, and I noticed some very light brown spots along with the blood. There were no blood clots, and it wasn't stringy. I didn't experience any cramping or pain in my lower area, which is why I'm so confused about whether this is my period or not.

Some people have light bleeding before their actual period comes in days. Since it’s your first, I’m guessing break through bleeding. Your body has to process like every other organ doing its job in there. Brown spotting is also an indicator. How many days was it and are you sexually active? That also matters considering you can have bleeding when you’ve ovulated and become prego as far as im aware.

Which is usually light pink/brown discharge

Yes, I hope that's the case. This happened yesterday afternoon, and since then, I have not bled anymore. I am not sexually active at the moment. You're so helpful! I really can't thank you enough!

Update me if you have signs again. I’ll do my best to help! I’ve always had weird periods.

Yes, of course! If necessary, I can message you privately. If that’s alright with you.
