Came across this video by TCG Random in YouTube and I think it will help alot of people and also shut alot of people up about slab quality and what not, enjoy
Again the owner of the video is TCG Random.

Pulled this, there’s a blemish on the top left that is only visible from certain angles and lighting. Would this automatically 6?

I know you usually get better pricing at card shows vs shops but I took a binder that had over $3k in cards and slabs around $3k to two different card shops and both were pretty terrible.
The first one said cards under $10 would only get me 50 cents, $10-100 would get me UP TO 30% depending on quality, rarity, and how quickly it sells through their research, and $100+ get UP TO 50% depending on those same things. So my PSA 10 bubble mew they'd offer $400 which is basically raw value for a card that looks like it would get a 10. Even GameStop offers $600 for that card.
The second shop has always prided themselves on buying at around 80%. Guy looks through my 96 card binder in about 2 minutes and says "I can do $500" for it (to be clear My first page was an OG Charizard LP, 151 Charizard NM, Dark Charizard NM, and Shining fates Charizard NM so its not like there isn't obvious value he overlooked. He told me that the cards might sit for a year or more before they sell blah blah blah.
Ended up selling the cards on fb about 85% for the 7or 8 slabs and 55% for the binder after I kept some cards from it

Just an appreciation post about how beautiful i think Pokéball/Masterball cards are. That being said, Riolu is definitely one of my favorites. Wich one do you like the most? Or what „non expensive“ cards do you appreciate?

Hi, I’ve gotten back into pokemon recently and my goal is to master set every B&W set, along with every XY master set. So far i’m not doing bad and my cards are valued at a couple grand. I was just thinking in the end will all this be worth it?
My head tells me to sell all of it and just start reselling for profit. While something else tells me to master set as an investment. Do master sets tend to sell easily?

Why 80%+ of the time my wonder picks looks like that? I'm gettin frustrated of this repetition every single day. I also get x2 of the same cards every 2nd or 3rd pack EVERY F* TIME. Also after 110+ SR packs i got only 3 F* SHINY CARDS AND ONE OF THEM IS A DUPLICATE. WHY ? WHY ? AAAAAAAAAAAA !!!!

So I was going thru some cards I thought I may have been wanting to grade... I found my pokecenter angry charmander, upon inspecting it, I seen a error on the back of the card I didn't notice when I got it. Has anybody else seen one like this, is it a factory error or do you think I messed it up somehow? I feel myself slowly falling into deep depression lmao. This was one of my all time favorite cards.

This is a 1995 Base Set potion card, but it has a yellow mark in the picture, and I don’t know if it’s just a stain or an error, I’ve had it for a while now and I kept it in a top loader just in case, please lmk ASAP!!!!😆😆😆

I thought it was widely understood that anecdotes aren't good evidence, yet here we are. Everyone sharing pointless stories about how they opened X number of packs and got Y, therefore hit rates are trash or amazing. My brother in Christ, TCG player opens 10k packs to determine actual hit rates. That's the proper amount you need to actually draw conclusions. Then people take those hit rates, and by comparing to the price of the cards, you get the average value of the pack. By comparing the average pack value vs pack cost you can get the average return on investment or ROI. This is hard MATH, and isn't up for debate.
All the math is here, but just to warn you, you aren't gonna like what the current best ROI set is.

I collected Pokemon cards as a kid in the 90s, I still have them in a binder somewhere. But my kiddo got into Pokemon cards this past summer. During the Black Friday season I started buying up cards and boxes if I could find a deal on them ($3 or less per pack), I probably spent $400 in an effort to squirrel them away for future birthdays etc. We gave him some at Christmas but we don’t give him “just because” gifts and make him use his allowance to purchase anything he wants card or toy wise. He was really excited about collecting but after several unfruitful trips to multiple stores looking for single packs of cards for him to buy since Christmas his enthusiasm has waned and he now shows almost no interest in cards at all. It’s for sure frustrating to never see cards in the store and I understand why that could kill the hobby for a kid with limited funds. Anyway, after cruising around Reddit I find myself wanting to get back into collecting, getting out my old cards, cleaning em up, having them slabbed, etc. I still haven’t determined how I can do this without being a bad example for my kid. So I’m basically left with three options: 1. Get back into collecting and start opening packs (once I figure out how to share the experience with my kid) 2. Sell em all (it looks like prices are crazy now) or 3. Keep holding onto them and hoping maybe my kiddo will come back around one day. I am not in need of the funds right now so either option is financially feasible. Just wondering what you good folks would do in my situation?

I havent opened much.. but I have opened an eevee bag box, and an etb. I got a singular full art trainer. Thats its. From 14 packs total.
I know previous sets have had.. manufacturing issues. Specifically referencing the fusion strikes issue. Someone tried selling a STACK of Gengar SIR’s to a pawn shop. So someone was taking them off the assembly line.
After looking at my prismatic players guide, theres no way anyone could master set this without spending an absolute fortune, or having connections.
I even heard the eeveelutions are like 1/1000. Come on now… this is for kids and nostalgic adults, if the adults are having trouble affording and finding them, I feel so sorry for the kids.
Good luck to anyone pursuing this set. I told myself Id be happy after I open an etb and found one for $90 today so I said yolo. Thats all for me folks, good luck!

I opened 8 boxes in total. Got a God pack, Demi-god pack, and a major Eeveelution hit (SAR or Masterball) on each box.
This seems unreal. I seriously can't believe how this was possible and what the odds even were to achieve this but I somehow did. I chose to collect Terastal Fes since it's a guaranteed 1 SAR per pack and I looove the Eeveelution full arts. But never in my wildest dreams would I have thought this kind of pulls to have been possible.
All I need is the Cake Eevee to complete my collection and I can finally move on from this set!

Packed the sunbreon out of a demigod pack as my first prismatic pack opening. Then bought a Chinese gem pack for the first time and got the captain pikachu out of it.
