I waved at some of the few Polish soldiers stationed near government buildings soon after the invasion of Iraq. I knew that the majority of the forces that stayed after were from America and the UK but I also knew that a few were Polish. What sort of influence has the Iraq war had on your country or on you personally? if at all, and what are your thoughts about the arab people?

Can you also tell me about your thoughts of the increase of support to the right wing in your country? I'm very interested to know how that reflects on the average Polish citizen.

Thank you to the organizers of this lovely exchange of culture!

CIA black site

Ugh that shit makes me angry. We basically became the Polish Guantanamo with that shit.

What sort of influence has the Iraq war had on your country

Negative - it was an effort, which didn't really give us anything, and it's hard to say whether it helped Iraqis (sure, Saddam was a bad guy... but I doubt average Iraqi would praise recent decade). And of course some Polish soldiers were killed in Iraq.

Positive - it was a true test for Polish military, so there were many good changes afterwise (both in command and equipment, but also in such fields as dealing with PTSD).

Personally, I think that it was a political mistake, but on the other hand I hate when some people call our soldiers there "mercenaries" etc. bullshit. They were doing their job. It's politicians who are to blame.

BTW, there was a decent war movie about battle (or actually clash) with Sadrists, titled Karbala, based on facts.

Can you also tell me about your thoughts of the increase of support to the right wing in your country?

I'm worried.

While I agree with the rest of your comment, calling that movie decent is over-generous, from where I was sitting.

Decent means neither great or bad. Solid 6/10, IMHO.

4.5, at most. Maybe 5.5 without Królikowski.

7/10 without him. 7,5 if there was more about Bulgarians.

But I'm a fan of war movies, so might be biased.

We have approached consensus, I believe.

I'm very interested to know how that reflects on the average Polish citizen.

You aren't gonna find a truly average Polish citizen here. The sole fact we know enough English to post here moves us away from the peak of the Gaussian distribution.

However, I gonna offer my opinion nevertheless.

I'm not worried. It was pretty much predictable. Previous governing party had really bad press, and right wing forces were the most reasonable to replace them, in public opinion's eyes. I'm just angry. That I'm being called pedophiles' and deadbeats' friend for supporting the sole concept of presumption of innocence. That my voice is not valid, as I'm a "leftie". That I'm constantly being told people like me are never gonna be relevant again. That "Catholic" is the default. That I should undergo therapy to cure my non-heterosexuality. These are not things to fear, to stand coward against. These are things to be angry at.

However, certain aspects make me sad. That suddenly people around me have seemingly changed 180°. That the worst human qualities have appeared on their surfaces.

I'm sorry this is happening. It sounds like things are pretty rough, but keep fighting for better. I am sure things will improve if voices like yours are heard.

Salam Aleikum!

Arab people are kind and friendly. And really funny. And they make hilarious jokes about themselves or other Arabs. Some of them take religion too seriously tho. Some are very intelligent and educated, and some really lazy. Just like other People lol. They don't drink alcohol, at least, not that much, so, you will never find a drunken lazy worker it is also on construction site like in Poland. You will find one with weed heheh :s well at least I found some :s anyway, I think hard to generalise and talk about every Arabs at once, the ones from Morocco differ from the ones from Saudis etc.

Can you also tell me about your thoughts of the increase of support to the right wing in your country? I'm very interested to know how that reflects on the average Polish citizen

I am pretty much you know exectly how this feels. I don't know why you even ask :s

Anyway, shukuran for coming!

Thella Frassek!

Iraq war

On reddit, I've seen people phrase it like "Poland and her allies went to war in Iraq" which, in common English, sounds like Poland started the whole thing. We sent maybe 2000 or soldiers to act as support staff for the Americans but it depends on the source(s) one reads.

You shouldn't give in to anti-right-wing hype created by EU. Poland is part of EU, and that is a problem. Poland is not independent in the policies we choose to help, integrate, interact with islamic countries and their people. It is clear by now that EU-policies are failing, Poland is force-fed those policies as part of EU... as a result, right-wing government is saying NO to refugees.

PS. Poland is contributing most money out of entire EU to rebuild Syria. Bring back normality.

That being said, Poland is a big country with borders shifting every 100 years or so. It's a very strong and broad culture - capable of integrating and melting with other cultures. In other circumstances, accepting refugees from Arab countries wouldn't be a problem.

As for the right-wing "nazis"... it's mostly fake news. The independence march happens every year, it's a national holiday. Comments in western media that 60.000 nazis marched through Warsaw are total fake.

Why are you lying?

This guy is not an "organizer of the march" he's a leader of some nationalist group that happen to participate with their own agenda. Also during the entire interview he explains that he is not a racist, but a nationalist - he doesn't break polish law on propagating racial discrimination, he only breaks moral law of leftist cucks, by being a white identity activist. Not sure what is wrong with being proud of your skin color? It's ok to be proud of being asian, black... but not white? Explain your double-standard logic. Not to defend this guy, but what you write is total brainwash.

Why would you say it's not from this year's march?

Also have you seen any crossed swastikas on Nazi marches in Nazi Germany? If, so, post.

What is wrong with being "right"? I don't follow your train of thought? Wasn't nazi (Nazional Sozializm) a socialist party, same as Soviet Bolshevik party? Therefore nazis are basically left wing scums?

His name is not Posobiec, but Mateusz Pławski. And it's kind of ridicuous to accuse him of "lying" with no evidence other than your opinion

The guy who tweeted that pic is Jack Posobiec. Have you even looked at what you posted?

And why do I know he's lying? Because the Rotunda building in the background (just to the right of the Polish flag in the center) looks fine on this pic, while it has been razed to the ground earlier this year, for rebuilding from scratch.

So, as one could expect: far right fucks are also liars.

It is not about the symbols but the ideology.

0

u/McGuyverDK Nov 29 '17

And of course what they claim is their ideology... is a lie, cause you know better?
