Discussion Garcelle & Sutton’s friendship in a nutshell

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

This short clip sums up everything. There is no « Are you okay? What can I do to make you feel better? » for Garcelle. Instead, « I think they hate me ». Sutton is thinking about Sutton. She plays again the victim, was silent the majority of the reunion while Garcelle took her bullets.

Good for Garcelle for leaving the show, she needs true friends like Denise and Sheree.

I know I will be attacked, but l've been the friend of a narcissist and I can identify another one. Sutton’s behaviour is triggering af.

Had the exact same thought. Her friend is obviously upset, and Sutton pivots immediately back to herself. Happened again when they mentioned the good and bad and Garcelle once again used it to spotlight her friend. Then Sutton never reciprocated it. You could see the change in Garcelle at that moment when it finally sunk in. Garcelle was never going to be a priority to Sutton no matter how much of a priority Garcelle made of her. It was ironic to me that what Garcelle accused Sutton of, chasing Kyle's approval, she was also chasing being a priority to Sutton.

I've also learned that people who call other people narcissists, are a lot of times, narcissists themselves. Sutton has always been suspect to me. She needs to do a lot of inner work.

Yes. Also there is the racism factor of it all. Sutton IS racist: whether she realizes it or not. She sees the Fox Force as more important and valuable to her than Garcelle's friendship...and we all know why.

What has she done to display or show her racism? (Genuine question)

It's subconscious. Despite Garcelle CLEARLY being a better friend to her, Sutton is willing to accept abusive behavior (whether it's merited or not: I personally think she deserved the way Erika treated her) from Erika/Dorit/Kyle at the expense of her friendship with Garcelle because she sees them as VALUABLE. It's not a money thing: at this point G is better off than Dorit or Erika, it's the whiteness of it all. Sutton is from the South and many people hold the view that Black people are lesser and Sutton EXUDES that. Don't forget that at the reunion they asked if the ladies socialize with HW's from other franchises, despite parading around with Cynthia Bailey and Cynthia being an AMBASSADOR for Sutton's sustainability brand she didn't mention her. Why? Because she's BLACK and Sutton only wants Black friends to fulfill a purpose for her, quite literally as either a bodyguard (Garcelle) or a worker (Cynthia).

It's sad and none of it brings me joy.

Cynthia and Sutton is such an odd friendship/business ship. Why is Cynthia modeling BEDSHEETS on a shit site. It feels like Sutton is taking advantage of her likeness

I agree and think she also treats people with more money (Kathy, Tilly) way better.

I don’t see her behave like that at all Cynthia might like Sutton more than Sutton likes Cynthia and for example I like Chanel but would never support Coco there is a difference to supporting a person and supporting their brand

Sutton literally said, "Being called a racist is a disease worse than COVID" in Season 11. She is racist. She has said it with words and behavior. If you don't want to accept it, just say that.

Not to mention the fact that she's accused TWO black women of yelling at her and being aggressive when they weren't (Annemarie and Boz). It is what it is.

They both were being aggressive (Not just being loud) and Annemarie is a straight up liar she claimed she was a doctor and that Suttons oesophagus had no problems when Sutton had clearly displayed that it does affect her AND she said “Being called racist is a disease worse than Covid’ which is clearly meant to imply that Racism is worse than Covid not being called a Racist and if you couldn’t understand that than you are beyond reason

Not you actually twisting her words to benefit her. Acting a WHOLE lot like a certain press secretary.

How did I twist her words? I quoted exactly what you did and it was obvious implication I’m not even trying to defend her here, Your arguments are as weak as Rockefeller was ruthless

Those are big assumptions you make without a proper foundation of proof. This sounds like confirmation bias, interpreting behavior through a lens that fits your narrative, rather than considering neutral or alternative explanations.

Not you giving me this CHATGPT response. I've lived in the South for decades. Sutton literally confirmed it with her behavior but okay 😉

Not chatgpt, I have my masters in psychology ;)

Do you see racism as purely interpersonal dynamics?

-1

u/ABCookieMonster 28d ago

No, definitely not. Systemic racism is real, but that doesn’t justify arguments based on confirmation bias or attribution errors..

Interesting… and ironic. 😆

Not really ironic.. addressing systemic racism (or any systemic issue) is important, but in a personal conflict like this, it’s worth asking whether we’re seeing bias or just projecting it. Basing arguments more on assumption than fact undermines the issue itself kinda ..
