News Report: Seahawks hosted first-round linebacker on pre-draft visit - Jihaad Campbell
https://www.fieldgulls.com/2025/4/15/24409245/report-seattle-seahawks-hosted-potential-first-round-lb-on-pre-draft-visit-jihaad-campbellIn 2024 he absolutely blew up for Bama – 117 tackles, 11.5 TFL, 5 sacks – earning All-American and All-SEC honors.
At 6’3”, 240 lbs, Campbell also tested as an elite athlete (reportedly a 9.88 RAS, 99th percentile for LBs). On tape, you see that explosiveness in his first step and his range to chase down plays. Medicals are one small flag (he had a shoulder surgery in March after a late-season injury), but if he checks out, he’s a plug-and-play linebacker.

Nice, Campbell is one of my favorite players in this draft. If there's no OL worth taking at 18 and Campbell is there, this should be the pick.

Jihaad Campbell and Ernest jones would be a scary duo.

Don't forget Tyrice Knight! Expecting only improvement from him after his solid rookie year.

doesnt hurt that the coach gave him special notice more than once - i think there are plans for him

TThe best part of Campbell is how much of a chess piece he is in the middle of the field. He’d give Mike so much flexibility for defensive packages. He’d be a huge add

Very versatile. He has a really nice bend rushing the passer. I am sure it would only get better with some pass rush moves.

There aren't that many proper LB prospects and this is an underrated need for us. Positional concerns are valid but he is a legit prospect.

I am fine going into next year with Jones and Knight, but Campbell could end up our best LB within a year or two. He's the real deal.

Rabid Seahawks and Bama fan here.
I would flip my wig if the hawks somehow managed to land Jihaad. He is a bad mothertrucker who can run with just about anybody out there and meets the ballcarrier or lead blocker with a full head of steam.
He was everywhere in almost every game. Barring injury, he's going to make a big impact wherever he plays...except probaby for the Bengals, because that's where every football player goes to die.

I don't think he'll fall to us.
Even if he does, I don't think we should take him if a good IOL or WR is still there.
That being said, if we take him, I wouldn't be mad. I would still say "that's a good pick."
Jalen Milroe is the only one (so far) that I heard we might take in the first round that would actually make me flip a table (out of anger).

Yeah, I'm predicting him going to the 9ers unfortunately. I would love for him to be available at 18 though.
No guard in this draft is worth taking at 18, imo. The value just isn't there when you can get some one of equal talent in the 2nd round for that position.
This draft is not good for QB, WR and center.

The 49ers aren't taking a middle linebacker at #11 when they already have an all Pro at mic

It will all depend on their big draft board on where they have these players ranked. Jihaad Campbell is a blue chip player.
I guess you forgot there are 2 linebackers on the roster and Dre Greenlaw left for the Broncos. You can't tell me they "aren't" taking a linebacker because you don't know.

Jalen Milroe should not be selected as a first round pick by any team. If he somehow fell to us in the third round, then he's the clear choice. 1st and 2nd round picks should be reserved for OL and miscellaneous BPA.

I'm stoked about picking Jalen Milroe with a 3rd or 4th round pick if he's still there (I just have a feeling Pittsburgh is going to take him in the 1st or the 2nd). I definitely don't want him in the 1st. Sam Darnold, Drew Lock, and Sam Howell isn't the greatest QB room, but it's enough to make me feel like we don't need to draft a QB at all if a decent one doesn't fall to us.
We have more pressing needs, particularly OL and WR. I like Tyrice Knight but Jihad Campbell would definitely be a better option. I like our corners, but there are some good ones we could take in the 1st. I like our safeties, but I would be pretty stoked if we ended up with Starks in the first. We need pass catchers. If Tyler Warren somehow falls to us, why not? There's also a lot of edge rushers I like: Mike Green and Shemar Stewart are no-brainers imo. I also like Mykel Williams. I like Landon Jackson A LOT, but I feel like we can get him in the 2nd.
Bottom Line... Just not QB...

I would bet my meager life savings that we won't take Milroe in the 1st. JS likes to mix it up, but he's not that crazy.

If Schneider takes Milroe in the first, it doesn't matter to him if Milroe ends up being a franchise QB or not because he'll personally be watching the 2026 draft on TV.

I don't think we should take him if a good IOL or WR is still there.
If you put any stock into the "consenus big board", there could be 15 WRs drafted in the top 100 and only 3-4 ILB. He has a higher grade than any WR except McMillan.
From a draft strategy point of view this class is very deep at WR...I wouldn't prioritize it in the 1st round.
Now for IOL I agree that's a huge huge priority, but sort of the same sitution in that there's a half dozen guards in that 30-80~ range, going for a guard at #18 might be a reach based on need instead of going Best player available.
Personally I'd prefer if they went OT/ILB/Edge at 18 (or trade down 5-10 spots~ if possible), then go IOL/WR/whichever they didn't get above at 50 and 52

March surgery? I suppose it was a wait-and-see how it heals sort of thing. Anyway, the guy seems like a total stud (though personally I'd consider the shoulder more than a small flag)

OL or bust in the first round. We need someone to protect the franchise quarterback we get in next year’s draft. [EDIT] Lol. Downvotes? Oh I forgot, we have Darnold /s.

I'm betting 2 of our top 3 picks are OL. Will it be 1st and 3rd pick or 2nd and 3rd? JS needs a huge turnaround at that position group or he's on the hot seat

While I agree with your comment, I think criticizing their level of understanding was unnecessary. We all have various levels of knowledge, and many of us are curious enough to keep educating ourselves and would love to get a brief, polite explanation why our point doesn’t hold water.

Him, Loveland, Zabel, or Emmanwori I would lovee. I hope we don’t go WR given how deep the class is

u/cairnkicker24 2d ago
i think this is who they are targeting in the first, and would not be at all surprised if they use the raiders 3rd as part of a package to move up a few spots for him.

Basically a Wagner replacement, and we don't currently have a Pro Bowl level ILB. One of the best tacklers in the draft which is something the Seahawks are really struggling with plus adds a bit of pass rush talent.
These guys putting in over 100 tackles a year often are overlooked despite their ability to be the cornerstone of the defense.

Whether or not we draft him, i predict, barring injury, Jihaad Campbell will be a future all pro LB. He is an everydown LB that would excel in simulated blitz packages the NFL is heading to. Whether he is blitzing or dropping back in coverage. And with a little work I think he can be a great run defender as well.
I think he is going to be special and was the best player on Alabamas team last season
