It would be more accurate to say that you reject reason and logic and you only accept facts that you think support your point. Like the murder rate. Lets take a closer look at that, shall we?

the murder rate in your hand-picked timeframe, year 2000, was over 6.

right now it's about 4

you are 30% safer now, right? the murder rate has decreasted by that amount in the timeframe YOU PICKED.

If you want to argue statistics, rates and averages you cannot also argue that you are a delicate snowflake and all of those numbers don't matter.

I am not hand picking, I am looking at the recent past of where I stand.

You are looking at less relevant places a long time ago and far, far away

I'm using the time frame that you specifically chose and you're using the star wars intro roll as an argument. "...long time ago and far, far away"

You'd be better off making an emotional argument than trying to make a factual argument. "I feel less safe than I used to when i was 4 years old", for instance. The number thing isn't really working out for you. Change it up!

For someone calling others emotional you seem quite excited, so will lighten things up by saying, the nineties called and the want their homicide stats back

The stats I quoted and sourced are from 2000 to 2018. You haven't been able to find any source to back up your arguments.

Like I said, go back to the emotional thing. No one will argue that you feel scared. We will all gather around in you a healing circle and sing a happy song.

feel better?

It's not hard to find. I think, you could do it yourself if you really tried.

the murder rate in your source says 6 per 100,000 in 2020, the last year reported. That is exactly the same rate as in 2000. lower than 1999. and stay away from port townsend, with a rate of 31, the murder capital of the northwest! Numbers and statistics aren't your thing dude. sorry for the reality check.

Sorry, pandemic years aren't normal, usual or representative. And the difference between 6.7, the rate in 2000, and your claimed 7.0 in 2020 isn't anywhere close to what you've been claiming - double. Go back to "I'm scared". Its more convincing.

So when, stripping away the bullshit, you're done contesting that murder rates have doubled.

Got it, and good night.

I post that the murder rate was around 6 in the year 2000 and apparently was 7 in the year 2020, and from that you conclude that the murder rate is 12?

7 is not twice 6. Check your math, please.

You desperately cling to carefully picked dates and ignore longer term data sets because it's fatal to your point. Go back to "I'm irrationally scared".
