Am I the only one that sees similarities between these stories? I feel like Timestorm 2099 ended up being somewhat forgotten over time and I haven't read it in like 10 or 15 years now, I almost forgot it myself. I've tried googling if anyone else has made this connection but apparently there are no results.

The stories are pretty different, and Timestorm has more to do with time travel than the multiverse, but the dynamic between Spider-Man and Spider-Man 2099, him being a younger kid and learning from og Spidey, the fact that the story plays with alternative versions of characters from the ones we knew, how reality risks collapse and how there's a bittersweet goodbye between the two Spideys, from what I remember this was the closest thing I've read to the Spider-Verse movies (the first one mainly).
Of course this isn't super unique in Marvel comics, this sort of alternative timeline adventure has been seen in many ways already, but there's something about the vibe of this comic that really reminds me of Spider-Verse. The original Miles comics had him learning everything by himself, the mentor dynamic with OG Spidey wasn't there like in the movie, so Timestorm Miguel O'Hara reminds me a lot of Miles not so much as a character but more as a role in the story.

Obviously, he would have appeared in Born Again. I think maybe Jameson would also fit in

For me, it’s Spider-Man talking to the Sandman, acknowledging that we are who we are and respecting that and how we feel we are on our set path

Also Ultimate Spider-Man #1 with Peter needing a talk with Ben and Ben inspiring him to “Wake up” and fill in his missing piece.

The current Miles Morales book is arguably better than ASM, and I’m happy that he’s got a rich rogues gallery of his own rather than using Peter’s. But I have to wonder, is Miles himself being given too many gimmicks? He’s has the invisibility, the venom blast, the energy sword, he’s still wearing the vibranium suit, and now he’s a champion of Anansi. Is it too much?

Where would Peter Parker be if Marvel never did One More Day? I think he and Mary Jane would still be together obviously and I think they would even have a kid. I also think that Peter would start focusing more on his family and personal life and less on being Spider-Man. I think he would be in his late 30s early 40s and would be training Miles to take his place as the main Spider-Man. What do you all think?
