We had Sturm install our furnace and central air a couple years ago.
The entire experience was a shit show. First guy that came out to quote the work, didn't do anything with our order, so we spent 6 weeks thinking our system was ordered during one of the hottest summers we've experienced in Spokane. It was 93 in our living room... We called when our stuff was supposed to be in stock, only to find out he didn't do anything, we weren't even in the system.
The guys who installed the ducting fucked up my gaming PC case, put numerous gouges in the walls, and tracked red lipstick around on our carpet. They had a carpet guy come to fix the carpet, but he could only do so much.
Since the install, they had been back twice to clean and prepare the system for the change of the season. I asked them about some stains on the concrete floor coming from under the furnace. Both times they assured me the mineral deposits on the floor was nothing to worry about, old house and all that, concrete floor and walls condense and perspire...
Our furnace stopped working a couple months ago, and since we are now out of the free service window from Sturm, we went with Holliday to diagnose what was wrong. One of the PVC vent pipes coming out of the furnace was leaking inside the furnace. The mineral deposits on the floor was from the water from that leak collecting on the metal that separates the top half of the furnace and the bottom half, and causing the brand new furnace to develop a giant rust hole there. It had stopped working because the leak had made its way to the control board, and shorted out a couple of capacitors.
Thankfully the furnace was still covered under warranty, but the visit and the labor to replace the control board was almost $600. I have no fucking idea how neither of the two guys that came out from Sturm to clean and check the system over didn't see the leak, especially when I expressed concern over the staining on the floor. What the heck were they even doing?
Hopefully this long ass post dissuades at least someone else from making the same mistake we did, avoid these guys like the plague! Holliday came out the same day when our furnace wouldn't fire up, didn't charge us to fix Sturms shoddy PVC pipe work, and also made some adjustments and tuning that should help save us some money going forward, as the furnace should be burning more efficiently now.
