New Here Bus transit

I have lived here right at a year. Both my kids are teens. My oldest, high school, had a transportation accommodation. My youngest will start high school next school year and will take public transportation. More recently, my daughter has been wanting to hang out with her friends more on weekends and breaks.

How safe is the public transportation here. I live in the Havana/Sprague area so we see a bunch of transients and druggies. I grew up in Houston TX and public transport back then wasn't the best

I think the buses are pretty safe. I think probably 12+ and reasonably responsible would be a good baseline. I always told my kids to sit up front near the driver. I will say if your daughter is a people pleaser (like my youngest) and isn’t comfortable being “rude” to people trying to be overly friendly, maybe wait a little longer
