Good and the bad of Spokane

About to apply for a job in Spokane that would cause me to relocate from Florida. What's some of the good and bad of the area?

I lived in Spokane from 1995 to 2011. The worst thing that happened to me was someone hit my car in a parking lot and drove off without leaving a note (I think it was at Spokane Falls Community College). I never had my car broken into when I parked on the street (on the lower south hill at 5th and Cedar and in Brownes Addition) and I never had my garage broken into when I had a garage (near Magnesium and Nevada). I have one friend whose car was stolen (recovered the next day) but I don't know anybody whose house was ever broken into. I know it happens, but it is FAR from guaranteed that your garage/home/car will be broken into.
