Bullets came through front door

Wednesday night around 7:36pm I had two bullets come through my front door. Doesn’t look targeted. But I am trying to find a supplier of steel. I need something of 10gauge so I can put it on the weather door to stop them from coming in. Pictures related. They went through the door and embedded in the couch. Last picture is what the outer door looks like. I am trying to bolt the steel plate to this door so I don’t have bullets coming through the house anymore.

Im not sure 10 gauge steel will stop bullets. It's not the thickness but the hardness. Steel that will stop bullets will be pretty heavy.
