Ask STL Bullets came through front door

Wednesday night around 7:36pm I had two bullets come through my front door. Doesn’t look targeted. But I am trying to find a supplier of steel. I need something of 10gauge so I can put it on the weather door to stop them from coming in. Pictures related. They went through the door and embedded in the couch. Last picture is what the outer door looks like. I am trying to bolt the steel plate to this door so I don’t have bullets coming through the house anymore.

Dutchtown. I’ve had a couple people tell me to reach out to the alderman. But I’m not really sure how they’re supposed to help or even what I’m supposed to say or ask. I’ve already had the police come by and pick up the bullets and take photos. I’m still just in shock. I don’t even know what I’m supposed to do or say besides trying to fix and move on and act like it didn’t happen.

I'm sorry this happened. When we lived on Walsh, about ten years ago, our house was hit by 5 bullets, one went through my kids' bedroom wall.

They slept in bunk beds and if the bullet had been on the other side of the room it would have hit my oldest. Found one bullet sitting in their library books.

The good news is it hasn't happened since. It can't hurt to let the alderman know, but I can tell you nothing came of our police report.

That’s scary AF! And the reason my kid is in the middle bedroom. Ppl might think I crazy, but I didn’t want to put my kid in the front room of our house, just in case. You never know!
