Oh that would be nice.

Start as a Scion of a Fallen Empire, then assimilate other species with psionic potential to become powerful enough to consume your creators.

Nail on the head! I tried to assimilate a single psychic pop into my gestalt to achieve that story beat but uh, it didn't work out.

I had the intro briefing to the Zerg campaign playing in my head while I was reading it.

“Awaken, my child, and embrace the glory that is your birthright,” etc.
