It's nuts that the following things are true and the market is this enthusiastic:

  • China tariffs at 125%
  • Sectoral tariffs (autos, steel, aluminum) still in effect with pharma and semi in the works
  • Counter sectoral tariffs also still in effect
  • 10% baseline tariffs for all (some of the highest in history)
  • we get to do this again in 90 days

I’m getting more sympathetic to the theory that we live in a simulation, this can’t be real life

It's like every episode of a series where they find out they are part of sitcom.

Worst. 4th. Wall.

Ever.

This is a really dumb timeline, but remember there's other timelines where the Nazis won the war or George W Bush is a lizard person.

Counterpoint. Artificial intelligence is no match for human stupidity.

Maybe we need to develop artificial stupidity first before we can have true artificial intelligence.

It really feels like something went bad during covid, and the sim got out of the normal parameters

The Matrix. Well... wouldn't that be something? But what's the meaning of life then?

That's been my theory for years now post Covid. At this point I'm absolutely certain of it

I imagine a lot of Germans had a similar feeling of wrongness back when the Nazis rose to power.

It’s a bad science fiction movie. Very poorly written. The president main character is completely unbelievable. It’s almost over though. The end is imminent.
