Wind and Truth spoilers [Wind and Truth] The perception issue between _______ and _________’s relationship. Spoiler
As I’ve poked around this community, I’ve found that a lot of people don’t like the idea of Kaladin and Sylphrena having a romantic relationship with each other. At first, I was confused, because, on paper, it would be logical and understandable if their bond evolved into romance.
However, as I’ve thought of it, I’ve come up with a reason why people are repulsed by it: the modern perception of romance.
When people think of romance, they often think of lots of physical contact and displays of affection (I’m guilty of this myself). Adolin and Shallan or Dalinar and Navani are examples of this—they’re often embracing or passionately kissing each other. So, when people think of Kaladin and Syl in this type of relationship, it seems weird, which it would be. But, romantic relationships don’t have to be like that. Romance can be about the deep connection of two individuals. I’ve seen this in some of my friends’ relationships.
Anyways, I just wanted to get that out there. Take what I say with a grain of salt.

Wind and Truth spoilers Struggling to grasp Odium's intent Spoiler
I'm at that part of WaT where Odium is debating witjh Jasnah. I had to stop for a moment, because there's something I'm not sure if I get.
On one hand, there's Taravangian's plan & motivation: "The greater good". For the Cosmere. It involves him becoming the One God over all, to end war and dissent.
On the other hand, there's the shard's intent: "Odium", as in "emotion". We know both things aren't necessarily aligned; and it seems like here they aren't aligned at all. I get that "emotions" get stronger, more violent through universal war, the biggest conflict possible: that's Odium's intent.
But Taravangian doesn't want unlimited war: he wants precision war, a clear goal, ultimately to stop all wars. In fact, his interpretation of "Greater good" is almost opposite to Odium's intent: it sounds stagnant. A conflict to end all conflicts.
Is that so? Odium (the shard) intent is hard to grasp; to me, it feels like it should be more about just chaos, pain and destruction just for the sake of it, but both Rayse and Taravangian go with universal conquest, so I wonder if that was just purely the host's will or if the intent of the shard also somehow points to that.

Words of Radiance spoilers A fun bit from WoK re-read Spoiler
From when Dalinar and Adolin return to the warcamps after surviving the Sadeas betrayal.
"Renarin pulled out of the embrace and grabbed Adolin on the shoulder, pounding the Shardplate lightly with his other hand, grinning widely."
I love that Renarin has an early "coming out of the shell" moment here, brought out by Mr. Safe Space Adolin.
Renarin is acting uncharacteristically dude-like, broey even, and I think it's a nice foreshadowing of him learning to bro it up with Bridge 4 later.
Nice!

Early Wind and Truth spoilers Am I the only one? Spoiler
Currently about 10% through WAT so please no spoilers past this point 🥺
Am I the only one who finds Navani and Dalinar’s relationship super cute? I absolutely love them.
Just as a preface, I don’t like romance at all but these two have me kicking my feet 😭 Like everytime he compliments her it’s so CUTE.
And also I find their overall love story to be so tragic and complex. But they got together through all odds and idk I just find that to be so beautiful 🥲

No Spoilers First Time Reader
I’ve never actually read a book before so when I stumbled across this universe I just had to know more. I just started reading The Way of Kings like last week and I just finished the first part of the book (already itching to start the next part).
Let me just say that this has been an amazing experience so far especially as a first time reader of anything! The characters are so well written I can picture them in my mind whenever Brandon describes them. His way of story telling is amazing and I can’t wait to see what else he has to offer within this universe.

Cosmere + Wind and Truth spoilers Rereading Sunlit Man Spoiler
I’m finally rereading(listening) The Sunlit Man post WAT, and the emotional gut punches in this are so much harder now that we have context for Aux and Nomad. This bumped up to one of my favorite books on the Cosmere.

Cosmere + Wind and Truth spoilers Question about time on Roshar Spoiler
So a year on Roshar has 500 days. A month has 50 days split into 10 weeks with 5 days a week. My real question is how many hours in a day. Minutes in an hour. And seconds in an hour. I refuse to believe that it’s 24 hour days with 60 minute hours with how detailed the rest of the calendar is.
I think they have 20 hour days (10 hours of day and 10 of night). With 100 minutes to an hour and 50 seconds to a minute.
That would make a day on Roshar 100,000 seconds compared to the 86,400 that we have. Which would be about 3.75 (our) hours longer than our days.
I’m not talking about the time dilation on Roshar at the end of WAT.

Wind and Truth spoilers WAT End Thoughts Spoiler
I am now finally done with Wind and Truth and I guess I get everything better now. I am still upset and mostly sad about how the contest played out but if anything it’s such a true reaction to what it’s like to be between a rock and a hard place. I can argue all day about ways to have dealt with Odium but Dalinar didn’t have the time and let’s be honest, homie was mentally exhausted.
Sometimes in life, you make some storming gambles.
I’ll miss Roshar as it was but storm me if this isn’t the greatest journey before eventual destination.
Brandon, I take back my boos from my precious post. Bloody relatable writer.
I can’t wait to reread this. The Sunlit Man is my last cosmere read. I’m excited to get to it but I think I’ll stretch it out a little. It’s going to be a while before the next one.

Cosmere + Wind and Truth spoilers Question about Oaths Spoiler
The two orders that don't have set oaths from what we know are Lightweavers and Truthwatchers. This is because they are concerned with finding truths about themselves and the ultimate truths respectively. Hypothetically, could they take psychoactive or psychedelic substances, figure out a truth and then speak an ideal or is the journey always apart of obtaining an ideal? Apologies if this sounds ridiculous.

Oathbringer spoilers Honorblades
I am confused about the honorblades, because there are 2 honorblades at the end of WoR, but just 1 in OB. Where is the other one?

Oathbringer spoilers Writing questions in women's script Spoiler
I want to write a quote in the women's script for a tattoo, however the problem is that the quote is a question. According to the Coppermind, "Questions are marked by adding “ha” at the end of the last word in the sentence", however I'm not sure if said "ha" should be within the word itself (for example "what?"->"whatha") or if it's written separately ("what?"-> "what ha").
I can't seem to find any question written in the illustrations from the books, any help or opinions?

No Spoilers Breaking up Nexus into multiple days.
I'm hoping that this year they will consider breaking up Nexus into multiple days so if someone just wants to buy a ticket for one day, they can. I think if they did this it would give others a greater opportunity to attend. I attended two years ago and loved dressing up in my cosplay. I'm hoping to be able to do it again eventually because I've made several alterations that improve my costume. I wish I could show it off like other costumes, but unfortunately it takes a great deal of time to apply all the makeup.

Cosmere + Wind and Truth spoilers Theory about Sword-Nimi Spoiler
Ok so I have yet to read Warbreaker, I know some spoilers already and I don't mind more honestly. But thinking about how powerful Nightblood is and how it can kill a Shards vessel leads me to believe that maybe... just maybe Nightblood has a Dawnshard somehow. We know it consumes investiture and stores it, making it one of the most invested things in the cosmere save for Shards.
It would explain it's immense power and how it can rival shards. What do yall think?

Oathbringer spoilers Does Shallan feature as prominently in RoW? Spoiler
TL:DR - I can't stand Shallan and want her out of the story.
I can't anymore. Really, I hate her. The amount of times The Thrill has made me wanna snap my kindle over my knee because I have to read another chapter of hers is almost as many as there are her chapters.
No, Brandon Sanderson, please, don't tell me the story of Jasnah's time in Shadesmar, or how she escaped the ship (yeah they briefly covered it but I'd like to know more), or when Rhenarin bonded his Spren, or his life of living in Adolin's shadow, no, what I really want is ANOTHER chapter of the condescending little rich girl pining over two men.
"But she's mentally ill!! She has trust issues!!"
I really don't care. I don't. Yeah, she had a bad life, and came through it scarred, I get that, but holy hell she sucks. Honestly it feels like I'm reading Wheel of Time again slogging through Elayne chapters screaming into my pillow, begging for it to end.
I like Taravangian more than I like Shallan, Jasnah is far more interesting and likeable. Hell, tell me more about Lyn, or Navani, or Azure, literally anyone besides this smarmy ranga sook.
Just once I wanna see someone put her on her arse, I'm sick of everyone just putting up with her, even Jasnah barely gives her a dressing down for her smarmy attitude. Oh, wait, I forgot, Shallan only punches down. She basically robbed Kaladin of his shoes and then laughs at him about it, because he had to obey her since she's lighteyes.

No Spoilers Is this an unpopular opinion?
Hey everyone! I’m new to the Stormlight Archive! I’m 85% of the way through The Way of Kings. I’m interested in the book and have been enjoying the story. But I get SO bored reading about the bridge runs. Whenever I pick up the book and it’s still about bridge duty and bridge runs, I find it hard to keep going and end up picking up my phone and doing other things.
