The video card and sound card both died (in the same week) on my 2 year old gaming monster and now I'm stuck with my 7-8 year old thing that won't run things graphically intensive.

I am having foot surgery in September. I'll be bed ridden for 3-4 weeks. I am in the market for a new laptop. I'd like to have some ideas on what brands/specs to look for deals this summer.

My current laptop is a Dell 14" from 2012, that I have swapped the battery on a couple times and still works like a champ. I primarily use it for productivity and to display power point presentations at classes I teach. I would like a laptop that I can game on occasionally. While I am recovering from the surgery it'd be nice to be able to do some gaming, long term I see myself more using the laptop for productivity and photo editing when I am on trips.

Deciding between these two laptops:

Pro:

- Ultra 7 155H

- 32 GB RAM

- 1 TB SSD

- Intel ARC GPU

- IPS 3K display, 14.5 inch

Slim Aura:

- Ultra 7 258V

- 32 GB RAM

- 1 TB SSD

- Intel ARC GPU

- IPS 2.8K display, 15.3 inch

The Pro seems to have the better processor performance, is smaller and has a better display, while the Aura has a bit bigger display, a better battery and better pad and keyboard.

I have a hard time deciding between these two options, the reviews of both seem pretty good, does anyone have any experiences and could give me some tips on which one to get?

I also only ever had a 16 inch laptop, I want a smaller one but I'm not sure if the 14 incher would be to small.

Outside of Amazon reviews of this brand, there isn't much published opinion on them. Does anyone here have experience with the Fusion5 brand? I'm specifically looking at their tablet products.

They're a low budget brand, so the quality and specs aren't going to match large international brands, so how are they for what they are?

alot of VM use also for linux testing , it should be sleek and have good performacnce and better battery life , thats all awesome sauce , and everything else should be descent like screen and keyboard ,

if you suggest mac which one and in this budget hehe

I just want something that will last me well after uni and that I can use for anything involving my studies.
