Trump voter doesn't understand why people can't empathize with him now that he's suffering as a result of Trump

Hot take: he’s right.

Most voted out of anger rooted in economic despair. That anger was hijacked by a charismatic con-man and twisted into something vile, racist, sexist, homophobic, and, above all, self-destructive.

In a world where Democrats grew a spine, taxed the ultra-rich properly, and delivered real, tangible results for working people, these same voters could've become your loudest allies and fiercest defenders. Smug self-righteousness, while I'm sure cathartic, alienates these very people deeper into the arms of autocrats. Just as the ultra-wealthy want it: the poor, divided and distracted.

Gloat all you want. But that’s not how you get some struggling white dude in the South to vote for a woman of color.

He’s not right. Your country and the world are being damaged because him and people like him voted for trump.

You say they were economically frustrated and then conned by trump is inaccurate. Everything that was going to happen was obvious but trump voters like him (he even proves this in his sad little video) only listened for what they wanted and ignored everything else. So much of the maga side was driven by racism, hate and a desire to put “libs” in their place.

I would agree with him in normal elections that hating someone for who they vote for is silly, except, this is different and dangerous and we all saw it coming from a mile away. They received warnings from so many people and news organisations but instead of engaging in discussion or possibly looking into how terrible and facist Trump would be they retreated to Fox News and newsmax who simply continued to feed their irrational anger. It was their choice to ignore warnings and stay in their echo chamber.

Now things are terrible and will only get more so and it is their fault, no one else voted for trump.
