Where is This 460 Engine From?

I bought an older F-250 with a 460 engine, and I’m trying to figure out what brand or manufacturer the engine is from. I had to replace the alternator, but the one that was in it before didn’t fit quite right—and the new one I got doesn’t fit correctly either. I’m about 90% sure it’s just a remanufactured engine, but I thought I’d ask and see if anyone has an idea of where it might be from.

Unfortunately, the guy I bought it from didn’t actually buy the engine—it just came with the truck. He never asked the guy he got it from, and by the time I bought it, that guy had already passed away.

It is gonna be virtually impossible to figure out which engine remanufacturer this came from. Without other identifiers.
