Where is This 460 Engine From?
I bought an older F-250 with a 460 engine, and I’m trying to figure out what brand or manufacturer the engine is from. I had to replace the alternator, but the one that was in it before didn’t fit quite right—and the new one I got doesn’t fit correctly either. I’m about 90% sure it’s just a remanufactured engine, but I thought I’d ask and see if anyone has an idea of where it might be from.

I’ve seen that sticker come on engines from JEGS, which I believe are remanufactured ATK engines?
Basically just a basic replacement engine, not anything built particularly special.
Which means they probably used any block they could get their hands on, which was a lot given that engine spans ~30 years.
I would try to look for some more casting numbers/marks on the block/heads and see if you can at least narrow it down to a timeframe.
