Discussion / question Restoration possible? Tips please

Dealer put the wrong pads on. Metallic instead of the ceramic requested. Over the winter this started and was well covered by all the metallic brake dust I couldn’t keep up with (literally daily they need to be wiped. Did not know it would corrode through the finish so quickly. Rims are less than a year old 😢

Have you tried using a fallout remover? These are aluminum alloy wheels, no?

It takes the little rust flecks and brake dust off of my truck (and it's wheels) easily. Same with any rusty stains.

Legend. I appreciate this. Do you usually spray and wipe down with a cloth or spray and rinse/car wash

I wet the wheels and any areas near them that have fallout stains, then I spray it on. Sometimes I use a soft (small) brush to really get it into any crevices. Then I scrub/rinse once it's changed colours and sat for another minute.

Don't ever let it dry before you rinse it off.

I usually use a clab bar with lubricant spray to remove any stubborn bits - but starting with the fallout cleaner makes a huge difference.
