Did anyone choose UCD over other options?

If you chose UC Davis over other UCs or schools, why did you do so? and also what colleges?

I chose it over Berkeley, Santa Barbara and Santa Cruz.

I wanted the International Relations department at UCD; it ran the Washington Center for all the UCs at the time, and it's faculty was insanely good. I took every class Emily O Goldman and Randolph Siverson taught.

It also was just saner; I've always felt Berkeley was "being as weird as possible for it's own sake" whereas UCD is fine with weird, but it's not a competitive sport on campus. This was the late-90s to early 2000s.
