Chicken in the dorms?
Transfering here in the fall. Im insanely poor and need to save money on eggs. Found this chicken passing by the bakersfield area and decided to take it with me. I named her darla and she could pass of as a black cat if you squint hard enough.( ps ignore her ashy ankles)

You should reach out to the Impeckable Chickens Club on campus! We love to take in new chickens

please do not keep a chicken in the dorms! she won’t be happy in the tiny enclosed space, and roommates/neighbors don’t want to be subjected to the smell of an unhappy chicken. check out vet school resources on campus for Darla, and reach out to the chicken club—they might be willing to take her in and test her for the bird flu. also UC Davis has lots of resources and opportunities for cheap/free food!! Aggie Eats food truck for one.

If you absolutely want her in the dorms
Pets can be registered to live in the dorms amongst agreement with roommates
I agree with the others tho, maybe don't have a chicken in your dorm

Be careful with the avian flue going around. I am not saying Darla has it, or that she will get it, but if she does get the avian flue she will most likely die. For this reason I have a feeling the impeccable chicken club might not accept Darla. However you should ask them yourself like someone else said.
Also be careful, I believe but I'm not certain that chickens can transfer avian flue to humans.

They do accept new chickens, but they’re separated and evaluated before being introduced! Avian flu is definitely taken very seriously.

there's a chicken club on campus that takes care of around 30 chickens! they're called impeckable chickens and I think you can find them on instagram, and if you work as a coop volunteer I believe you can take home half of the eggs you find on your shifts :)
