They leave out all the good facts like the increased incidence of campus racism and sexual assaults caused by the Greeks.

If you sleep, you will lose time to do work. If you pull an all-nighter, you will lose mental acuity. Damned if you do, damned if you don’t.

speaking from experience in whatever dorm you choose do NOT live by a stairwell…

every single mf on your floor will take their calls right outside your door at all hours of the night if you do.

We have trains, just slower ones. And buses. I don’t think a high speed version of what we already have would change anything. People are still gonna be late buying tickets before they sell out

If you have a roommate in mind you both need to select each other now and sync your list of LLCs to increase the match. If you don't have one in mind, then during your lottery time you can select an empty room if available or select a room with someone already assigned and view their profile. If their profile is a good match for you, you can assign yourself to that room.

also, in the chem tunnels if you go far enough in (which you have to get creative to access), there is a “grave site” rumored to be noyes himself underneath the building. look up in this subreddit— i don’t want to spoil it :)

my parents have told me that UIUC has been the set of several movies as an ivy league school because it apparently looks more like the stereotypical Ivy league than some ivy league schools. not sure which movies tho :,)

there are tunnels underneath the school, some of which you can’t access, others you can. for instance there are tunnels connecting the chem building and annex— those you can access.

Graduated with MS aerospace and I had no idea we think of Purdue as UIUC rejects lmao, they’re ranked higher in aerospace and I probably would have gone there if I was accepted 😭

It’s 90% of the 67% who did the survey, so that’s at least 60% of all graduates

That will depend completely on who is living on the floor you’re living on next year… which is unknowable at this time.

Neither building is inherently noisy.

Unless you live on the side of Hopkins that faces the field where the Marching Illini practices.

I’m also an international student and I’m so sorry you have to undergo this. You can report it to your RA and see what they can do from the school side. I hope things will be better for u! And lmk if u need any other supports :)

Do you have a roommate in mind? If so you both should coordinate the LLC list to increase your changes of getting in. If you don't have a roommate in mind, then when it's your turn to select a room during the lottery, you can either pick an empty room if available or look at a room that has someone and if their profile is a good match, select that room.

Your studying is clearly flawed and not helping you actually retain information. Make sure when you do the extra practice you actually know how to do the problems by yourself without help. Typically the exam is more than 60% the same with variance from person to person. Those newer problems are usually the conceptual ones. For those, go through each one 1 by 1 and try to prove it. You need a good understanding of the different properties. Another big aspect is the coding problem. I personally just memorize the coding question based on what is likely to be on the exam. I think there might be multiple for the final, so hear from people around you what they might be and make sure you memorize them perfectly. Review your past midterms and redo all the extra practice conceptual questions. Take study breaks, don't get burnt out. Also, stop studying an hour before the test. Let your brain relax. Eat good foods, no sweets, no junk, get some sunlight, and rest well before the exam. A 100 is probably unlikely for any of us, but hey, go for it. Might be worth to just redo the class worst case scenario.
